AbstractAbstract
[en] We show that the spacing distributions of low-lying nuclear energy levels recently published by Garrett and collaborators can be represented by a formula previously suggested for the level spacing of systems in transition between order and chaos, equally well if not better than the Brody and Berry-Robnik formulae. AbstractAbstract
[en] The relativistic KKRZ method in conjunction with the relativistic modification of the quantum defect method has been applied to compute the energy band structure of trivalent indium. From the energy band data, the Fermi surface of In, which has been investigated thoroughly by various workers, has been studied in detail. The results predict that the second zone hole surface is a closed one and that besides the B-arms tiny portions of the third zone electron surface exist around the T point. The band diagrams have further been utilised to find out the density of states and optical spectra via the joint density of states. The different results obtained agree favourably with experiments. AbstractAbstract
[en] We study level spacing distributions of finite-sized one-dimensional disordered systems. As the system evolves from a quasi-ballistic to a strongly localized regime, the system crosses over from a strongly non-Wigner-Dyson type level spacing distribution to a universal Poisson distribution in the thermodynamic (L→∞) limit. In between it goes through regimes where the distribution seems to be a mixture of Wigner-Dyson type and Poisson type distributions, thus indicating existence of pre-localized states before the thermodynamic limit sets in. AbstractAbstract
[en] The 9Be(7Li,α)12B reaction has been studied at E (7Li) =20 MeV using a multiangle spectrograph. Thirty-seven states of 12B with E/subx/ < 14 MeV have been observed. Angular distributions are presented for the first seven states of 12B. The neutron reduced widths extracted from experimental total widths of the positive parity states are compared with shell-model predictions

AbstractAbstract
[en] Transmission and capture data from 58Ni were analyzed up to 120 keV and are reported. High-resolution scattering measurements for Fe are discussed, and the determination of the J/sup π/ value for most resonances seen in transmission data up to 400 keV is given, including an attempt at evaluation of the resonances of 56Fe on the basis of recently published data. 4 figures, 3 tables

AbstractAbstract
[en] There is a considerable body of experimental results for the energy levels and decay modes of 4189Nb. This evidence is compared with a shell-model study which assumes a closed 3888Sr core so that the configuration of 89Nb consists of three protons and two neutron holes in the 1g/sub 9/2/ and 2p/sub 1/2/ single-particle levels. The calculation can account for most of the observed spin assignments and lifetimes for M1 and E2 decay, although there are a few discrepancies. A paper has been submitted for publication
