AbstractAbstract
[en] Light collection characteristics in large (approximately 10 m of length) cylindrical liquid scintillation counters on the basis of water or white-spirit have been obtained by computer calculations. Their wall was prepared of dacron foil of various thickness. Experimental values of optical parameters for dacron foils are used. The analytical expression which contains fitting parameter is proposed for calculation of these characteristics. The calculation results agree well with the experimental data

AbstractAbstract
[en] The mathematical model of Cherenkov counter pulse-height spectrum for primary nuclei and their fragments has been developed. It takes into account the counter properties and nuclei interaction with radiator matter. The model has been used for data analysis at the experiment with 4 A GeV/c momentum 19F beam and provided 1% accuracy of charge-changing cross-sections for various nucleus-targets. The similarity of small charge fragments peak to lognormal distribution leads to possibility of existence of primary nucleus cold breakup for large charge-change interactions. 8 refs.; 2 figs.; 1 tab

[en] Cooling ability of bishofite aqueous solution when quenching blancks of 10GN2MFA and 15Kh2NMFA steel is investigated. It is established that difference in cooling velocities at high temperatures in water and the bishofite solution doesn't influence on the structure and properties of blanks. The bishofite solution can be recommended as cooling medium for products of complex configuration, because occurrence of hazard thermal stresses as a result of low cooling velocities in the interval from 200 to 80 deg C is less probable

AbstractAbstract
[en] A possibility of using a polarized target as a target analyzer of beam particle polarization (Ssub(T)=1/2 Psub(T) vector) so that all the components of beam polarization Ssub(B)=1/2 anti Psub(B) should be determined in one experiment, is revealed. A proton polarization target is considered as a polarization target-analyzer. Asub(SK) and Asub(kk) asymmetry tensors are considered for elastic pp and pn scatterings by amplitudes of NN scattering which attain the values of 0.3-0.9 at 95-400 MeV. Asub(kk)(pp) and Asub(sk)(pp) are experimentally measured in the 445-576 MeV range. It is found that their highest absolute values are equal to 0.4-0.5 and 0.2-0.3 respectively. Elastic proton scattering on polarized electrons may be another variant of using polarized target for measuring proton beam polarization. Asub(sk) and Asub(kk) components of asymmetry tensor of elastic pe scattering are graphically presented. A possibility of using a polarized charge with spin I=1/2 as a target-analyzer of particle beam polarization is marked

[en] The analysis of advisability of the development of low-carbon copper-nickel-molybdenum steels, microdoped with vanadium, niobium, aluminium and calcium conformably to manufacturing of large-scale welded blocks of power-generating equipment is performed. It has been found that steel cooled from austenitization temperature (950 deg C) with 100-1000 deg C/h rate has a ferritic structure formed in the high-temperature range (865-670 deg C). The steel is insensitive to temper brittleness in the temperature range 200-650 deg C with 20 h holding and 10 deg C/h rate cooling

[en] The fragmentation of 19F→zAf (δz=1, 2, 3, 4, ≥5) at 4 A GeV/c was investigated on C, Al, Cu, In, W, Bi and U targets. The trajectory of incident ions was measured by proportional chambers, while the charges of incident and progectile fragments were measured by Cherenkov detectors. The cross section dependence upon the atomic number of a nucleus-target was studied, and the contribution of the Coulomb mechanism of fragmentation was evaluated

[en] Characteristics of drift tubes used as trace detector of charged particles are investigated. The tubes are made of stainless steel of 40 mm in diameter, of 3 m length and 0.5 mm wall thickness with wire of gold-plated tungsten 50 mkm in diameter built in a set. The maximum eccentricity of wires due to tube bowing was 3 mm. The Ar+5.3% propane gas mixture was used. For data registration unique charge-sensitive amplifiers of 3 V/pC were used. The tube noise characteristics and the dependencies of the efficiency of registration on siganl wire voltage and calibration characteristic are presented. The plateau of registration efficiency over voltage is 300 V for 3x10-14 C preamplifier threshold are given. The rms accuracy of trace projection measurements by tube in the charged particle beam of 1.5 GeV/c momentum is about 0.3 mm

[en] The results of the electronic experiment on the investigation of the projectile fragments interaction are presented. The experiment is made at 4.5 GeV/c A24Mg beam of the JINR synchrophasotron. The main part of the apparatus is the live target assembled of 40 Cherenkov counters with 5 mm thick lucite radiator. Charge changing reactions for the primary beam and secondary fragments with 6 <-- z <= 11 have been registered. The interaction mean free path of the projectile fragments and probabilities of its production based on the analysis of 105 interactions are presented. The absorption function is well represented by one (normal) exponential. The upper limit of the anomalous component contribution α is obtained assuming that it has mean free path 1 cm. The result is: α<1.4%, on an average over 6<=Z<=11 with 95% confidence level

AbstractAbstract
[en] The cross sections of 19F nucleus interaction with the nuclei of different elements at 4 GeV/c x nucleon momentum in reactions are measured. In the finite state of these reactions the fragment with charge Z≤8 is formed. The experiment apparatus comprises a transmission detector where the nuclei trajectory at the target input has been measured with proportional chambers whereas the nuclear charge before and after the target has been measured by Cherenkov counters. Experimental data obtained with accuracy - 2% are presented for carbon, aluminium, copper, indium, tungsten, bismuth and uranium targets. The dependence of cross sections on atomic number of the target coincides except of cross section of interaction with heavy targets
