AbstractAbstract
[en] A model independent method, derived from the optical theorem, valid even in the presence of nuclear forward glory, is suggested for the obtention of total reaction cross section ν sub(R) from elastic scattering data. A new, graphical way of interpreting the optical theorem is also presented. (Author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The ECIS (Equations Couplées Itérations Séquentielles) code of Jacques Raynal continues to have an important role since its first version in the seventies. Its use to describe the elastic and inelastic scattering of light heavy ions at energies close to the Coulomb barrier is the first topic of this paper. Nuclear reactions with weakly bound stable and radioactive projectiles are described in the second topic, where the projectiles breakup is not taken into account in ECIS and a more recent formalism called Continuum Discretized Coupled Channels (CDCC) calculations is applied to them. The second topic also contains some results that were obtained at the Radioactive Ion Beams in Brasil (RIBRAS) facility, with a radioactive 2n-halo He beam on light, medium mass, and heavy targets.

AbstractAbstract
[en] It is shown that the elastic scattering of 12C + 12C in the center-of-mass energy range 6< E <31 MeV exhibits forward glory enhancement. Semiclassical analysis of the quantity Δσ sub(R) Ψ σ sub(R) - ∫[ sup(dσ) Ruth./dΩ - sup(dσ) el./dΩ] dΩ indicates that the best candidate for a 12C + 12C interaction potential is a small-radius, deep Woods-Saxon potential, in qualitative agreement with the results obtained from recent analyses of sup(dσ) el./dΩ done at higher energies. AbstractAbstract
[en] The α + sup(12)C elastic scattering angular distributions at E sub(LAB) = 120 MeV, 145 MeV and 172,5 MeV were phase-shift analized and an inversion procedure for the determination of the optical potential was applied. The potential and its associated uncertainties, as a function of the radial distance, were found. Comparison is made with usual Wood-Saxon optical potential analysis. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The effect of the dynamic α-transfer polarization potential on several channels of the system 24Mg + 16O has been calculated and compared to out experimental data and those of Paul and collaborators. The general agreement is good, indicating that the α-transfer coupling can have an important contribution to explain the back-angle anomalies observed in the elastic, inelastic and transfer channels. AbstractAbstract
[en] The nuclei far from the stability valley, with a large excess in neutron or proton number, usually presenting a large isospin and typically β unstable, are frequently dominated exotic or radioactive nuclei. This work presents experimental studies of exotic nuclei which are of interest for radioactive nuclear studies, from the nuclear structure and nuclear astrophysics viewpoint

AbstractAbstract
[en] We measured six fairly complete angular distributions of elastic, inelastic and α-transfer reactions of the 12 sub(C)+ sup(24)Mg system at E sub(CM) = 25.2 MeV. We performed coupled channels calculations using the Algebraic Scattering Theory with nuclear algebraic potential derived from nuclear phase shifts and using available structure informations for the inelastic coupling strengths. The back angle rise in the elastic cross section is fully explained by the couplings between elastic and transfer channels. (author)

(L.C.)Primary Subject
