AbstractAbstract
[en] Measurements of σsub(R) have been performed at 30 and 83 MeV/nucleon incident energy for 15 heavy ion systems using the attenuation method. The data are compared with predictions of microscopic calculations and a semi empirical formula is given for σsub(R)

AbstractAbstract
[en] A newly designed, efficient ion source has been developed utilizing argon as operating gas at low pressure. The produced ions are accelerated by a negative voltage of 300-1000 V bent by a magnetic field, and impinge upon a target foil operated as cathode. The extracted beam has an intensity of 10-40 mA and a diameter of approximately 25 mm; it is used to thin down various rolled, metallic foils of Ag, Cu, Ni, Mo, Nb, and Ta from about 1 mg/cm2 to 0.25-0.40 mg/cm2 via the cathode-sputtering process. A few thinned foils of Nb and Mo have been successfully tested as targets in heavy-ion bombardments such as 37Cl and 32S at energies of 5-6 MeV/u. Finding optimum operation conditions for the eroding ion-beam and minimizing damages and impurities in the prepared target layers have been the aim of the present investigation. An extension of the method to Ne or Kr as operating gases in the ion-source and the use of other metallic samples in the ionic-erosion procedures is in progress. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Measurements of yields of evaporation residues identified by mass and charge following the reactions 20Ne + 12C (66.5 MeV) and 16O + 16O(55 MeV) have been carried out using a time-of-flight ΔE + E technique. These data have been analysed together with other data for compound nuclei with masses < 32 and Esub(x) < 50 MeV in the framework of the statistical model using new computer codes which predict isotope cross sections and angular and energy distributions. A good description of all data is obtained and the determination of the critical l-value in the compound nucleus is shown to be possible using only the relative yields of the evaporation residues.
