Edda Rut Björnsdóttir has been appointed as the Executive Vice President of Domestic Iceland division at Eimskip. The Domestic Iceland division includes land transport and distribution center, warehouse and cold store operations, as well as facility management. Edda has been the Executive Vice President of the Human Resources and Communications division since 2020. Harpa Hödd Sigurðardóttir has been appointed as the Executive Vice President of the Human Resources and Communications division, replacing Edda. Harpa has been with Eimskip since 2019 in several roles within the Human Resources and Communications division, most recently as a senior manager in Learning and Development. Eimskip just published the Company’s Q3 2024 results. “We are pleased to report good results for the third quarter of 2024 driven by generally high activity across the group” says CEO Vilhelm Már Thorsteinsson

Eimskip has recently been awarded the Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) certification, internationally recognized in the logistics sector. The certification aims to enhance international supply chain security and facilitate legitimate trade and confirms Eimskip as a trusted and responsible operator in global shipping. Eimskip graduated the fourth class of the Company’s International Leadership Program at the end of May. The program plays an important role in developing leaders, increasing collaboration, and driving cultural enhancement within the Company. A total of 25 employees from 11 countries participated in the program this year and spent five days together in Iceland where they received extensive leadership training. When asked about the expected benefits of The Company’s Leadership Program, one participant expressed their belief in its positive impact on their leadership skills and personal growth.  “I have learned techniques to be able to motivate and praise everybody in the team when needed, and also gained confidence that I will be heard when I come up with ideas, and also have the confidence in my own abilities to deal with nearly any situation that comes my way” they replied. https://lnkd.in/d3E6gjFJ

Bjarkey Olsen Gunnarsdóttir, Iceland’s new Minister of Food, Fisheries, and Agriculture, visited Eimskip’s booth at Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global in Barcelona last week. Eimskip participated in the Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global in Barcelona this week. “The Seafood Expo in Barcelona provides a valuable platform to connect with global seafood customers, showcasing our expertise in transporting frozen and chilled commodities,” says Vilhelm Thorsteinsson, CEO of Eimskip. Employees from Eimskip’s offices in ten countries attended the show, and the atmosphere at the booth was good, and many guests stopped by. The Company hosted a well-attended customer event on Tuesday evening, strengthening relationships with customers in the seafood sector. “I want to thank our customers for attending both the booth and the party.
