We are pleased to share the agreement signed by Swegon to acquire HOWATHERM Klimatechnik GmbH, a family-owned manufacturer of modular air handing units, based in Brücken, Germany. “With this acquisition, we strengthen our position on the German HVAC market, the largest market for air handling units in Europe. Swegon is proud to announce the approval of its near and long-term science-based emissions reduction targets by the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi). The SBTi has verified Swegon’s net-zero science-based targets by 2050.  In the near-term, Swegon has committed to reduce scope 1 GHG emissions a total of 42 % by 2030 from a 2022 base year. Swegon will also increase the annual sourcing of renewable energy to 100 % by 2030. Swegon further commits to reduce scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services and use of sold products by 51.6 % per MSEK value added by 2030 from 2022 base year. Swegon’s long-term target includes to reduce scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 90 % from a 2022 base year, and to continue active annual sourcing of 100 % renewable electricity through 2050. The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a global body enabling businesses to set ambitious emissions reductions targets in line with the latest climate science. It is focused on accelerating companies across the world to halve emissions before 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions before 2050.
