🌍 Italy Leads Europe in Recycling and Circular Economy! During the recent edition of Ecomondo, the annual Circonomia report confirmed Italy’s top position in ecological transition and circular economy. 🚀 📊 Corepla’s 2023 data highlights the extraordinary contribution of our country: - 1.25 million tons of plastic packaging collected. - 1.04 million tons sent for recycling. - 533,000 tons of virgin raw materials saved, equivalent to 11 billion 1-liter PET detergent bottles! 🍼♻️ 🔬 Chemical recycling is also on the rise, surpassing 4,200 tons, while the use of plastic as a secondary reducing agent in steel mills reached 38,456 tons. 🇮🇹 Italy as the leader in Europe: - First in the recycling rate of waste (both urban and industrial). - Among the top in material consumption per capita and per unit of GDP. - Leading in packaging recycling, scoring 9 points above the EU average, and in the plastics sector, exceeding the average by 14 percentage points. 💪 At Crocco, through our #Greenside model, we are proud to contribute to this national excellence, supporting our clients on the path to a truly circular economy. 🌱 Read the full article on Polimerica 👇 https://lnkd.in/ereps9Cq

Crocco e SPAC: insieme per un packaging sempre più sostenibile. Grazie alla collaborazione con Crocco, SPAC | VEGAM - PU/PVC Coating and Fabrics ha raggiunto un traguardo importante: la compensazione completa dell'impatto carbonico del packaging utilizzato per la divisione VEGAM. Come ci siamo riusciti? 💡 1️⃣ Film termoretraibile innovativo: SPAC ha adottato il nostro film contenente 50% di materiale riciclato, riducendo l'uso di risorse vergini. ♻️ 2️⃣ Compensazione CO2: Per le emissioni residue, SPAC ha acquistato crediti di carbonio, destinati a finanziare un impianto solare in India, contribuendo così a un futuro più sostenibile. ☀️ 🔗 Questo progetto è un altro passo del nostro percorso #Greenside, la green partnership che offre ai nostri clienti soluzioni concrete per la riduzione delle emissioni durante tutto il ciclo di vita dei loro prodotti.

🌱 Leaf®: The First Compostable Cling Film from a 100% Made in Italy Supply Chain 🌱 Crocco is proud to present Leaf®, the first cling film in Italy that can be disposed of in the organic waste bin, making it an integral part of the circular economy. Developed entirely within a Made in Italy supply chain, Leaf® is crafted from bioplastic and has already been adopted by premium food producers. 🔍 “This innovation fundamentally changes the environmental impact of a material used daily in millions of homes,” explains Crocco’s CEO, Renato Zelcher. “Leaf® is biodegradable and compostable, with qualities specifically designed to minimize its environmental impact compared to traditional solutions.” ♻️ Certified and Sustainable: Leaf® meets the UNI EN 13432 standard for biodegradability and compostability, and it’s certified with both OK Compost Industrial and OK Compost Home labels by TÜV Austria. This means it can safely enter the composting process, whether for industrial or home composting, without disrupting waste streams. 🏡 Versatile Usage: Leaf® is ideal for both manual packaging—at home, in shops, or fresh produce sections of retailers—and automatic packaging for large-scale industrial use. Consumers can now store fresh food or leftovers with a film that’s not only safe but also compostable, supporting environmental protection and helping to reduce food waste. 🌍 Greenside: A Carbon-Neutral Pathway: Leaf® is also part of Crocco’s Greenside initiative, which provides an eco-design framework to minimize CO2 emissions. 🌍 The First “Stretch Hood” Made in Italy with 30% Post-Consumer Recycled Material 🌍 Crocco is once again leading the shift toward a circular economy with the development of Italy's first “stretch hood” packaging containing 30% post-consumer recycled material—a pioneering solution in Europe as well. 🔬 “Thanks to our R&D labs,” explains Gianmaria Perin, Crocco’s Product Manager, “we have succeeded in creating an elastic tubular film for cold pallet hooding that, with 30% recycled content, maintains the same performance as the 100% virgin plastic version. Importantly, this is post-consumer recycled material, a key component for achieving a true circular economy.” ✅ Versatile and Sustainable: This stretch hood is already being used in sectors such as ceramics, premixed products, and insulation materials, demonstrating its adaptability and sustainability. Today, the standard content has increased to 35% recycled material, underscoring our commitment to a greener future. ♻️ From Waste to Resource: Post-consumer plastic has already fulfilled its original purpose, and through recycling, it returns to production for a second life. Crocco also guarantees this sustainability by certifying the product as “Second Life Plastic,” with initial tests in the ceramics sector showing customers seamlessly adopting this new version without any need for machine adjustments and with performance fully comparable to virgin plastic stretch hoods. 🌱 Greenside is our commitment to sustainability.
