Ferrino is proud to announce its partnership with the CAI Eagle Team, providing technical support for the mountaineering expedition to Patagonia for the six young alpinists involved in the project. Officially launched at the beginning of February, the expedition is now entering its most crucial phase: after a few days of preparation in El Chaltén, the team is ready to take on the imposing granite walls of the Patagonian mountains. Alex Txikon has inaugurated the Mendietxe Museoa, a new Mountain Museum in Azpeitia, in the Basque Country. Located in a former ecclesiastical building, the museum offers a journey through the evolution of mountaineering equipment, displaying a wide range of historical items including technical clothing, tents, and footwear. Always on the side of the Planet, Ferrino has been committed for decades to supporting slow and sustainable tourism projects, respecting local communities and traditions, and fostering the development of mountain territories. Among the initiatives we highlight today is the collaboration with Pieroad, a project by Nicolò Guarrera, who is currently engaged in a walking tour around the world: a journey that celebrates slowness and authentic contact with local communities. But Ferrino’s commitment to sustainable tourism doesn’t stop there: through the SWAT project, in collaboration with Mountain Wilderness, the Italian Academic Alpine Club (CAAI), and ISMEO, Ferrino supports women's empowerment in Pakistan by providing courses that teach local women the skills needed to guide mountain excursions. At the national level, Ferrino partners with Va' Sentiero, recently involved in the revitalization of the Sentiero della Pace in Trentino, a historic 500 km route linked to World War I, now accessible to everyone through a Digital Guide. Ferrino also promotes the Valle Maira, one of the most unspoiled valleys in Piedmont, in collaboration with the Visit Valle Maira tourism consortium. With its pristine landscape, free from overdevelopment and invasive ski lifts, Valle Maira is perfect for those seeking slow and sustainable tourism, offering accommodations restored in respect of local architecture and the environment.
