🎉 Important Recognition for Our University! 🎉 We are proud to announce that on the 30th of August 2024, the European Commission has awarded Università Politecnica delle Marche with the prestigious #HR Excellence in Research 🏅, acknowledging the quality of our research environment and our ongoing commitment to supporting the careers of #researchers. This recognition is the result of an Action Plan aimed at implementing the principles outlined in the European Charter for Researchers, which defines the rights, responsibilities, and obligations of researchers, their employers, and research funders across Europe. 🌍 Key areas of focus include: -Ethical and Professional Standards in research 🧑🔬 -A supportive and inclusive work environment 🏢 -Transparent and fair recruitment processes ✍️ -Comprehensive training and career development opportunities 📈 Since the implementation of the principles of the #EuropeanCharter for Researchers and its adoption in 2005, 742 institutions across Europe, including 19 Italian Universities, have been granted with this prestigious recognition. 🌅 Happening now! Kick off the SUNRISE project! 🌟 We are thrilled to announce the opening of the SUNRISE Alliance Kick-Off Meeting, hosted at Technische Universität Ilmenau!  Today, partners and associated partners of the European University Alliance SUNRISE are gathering to set the stage for this transformative initiative.  What is SUNRISE? SUNRISE is an alliance of nine smaller-sized European universities with a #STEAM focus (STEM + Arts), strategically located in regional, non-metropolitan areas. Together, we are committed to: • Driving the development and prosperity of regional economies and societies; • Actively shaping the EU’s Triple Transition approach: social, green, and digital; • Supporting the design and implementation of EU #RIS3 strategies, fostering synergies across regions; • Serving as an industrial and urban "transition bridge", connecting innovation with local communities. 🎉 Today, Università Politecnica delle Marche (#UNIVPM) proudly introduced the SUNRISE Alliance to its community! Officially started on January 1, 2025, SUNRISE brings together Universities in non-metropolitan areas to drive growth and innovation while staying aligned with European values. The event kicked off with warm greetings from Vice-Rector Marco D'Orazio and General Manager Alessandro Iacopini, who highlighted the significance of European alliances in shaping the future of higher education. Presentations by Prof. Francesco Fatone (Rector's Delegate for EUI) and representatives from the University’s International Relations Office (Silvia Mangialardo) and International Projects Service (Emmanuelle Girardin) provided the UNIVPM community with an in-depth overview of the strategic role this alliance plays. What makes SUNRISE special? 🌍 The European POWERINGCITIZENS Project Continues! The European Union is stepping up its commitment to promoting policies and projects that focus more closely on climate issues and their connection to energy needs. The #POWERINGCITIZENS project, funded by the #Rights, #Equality, and #Citizenship (#CERV) Programme, aims to combat energy poverty across #Europe and the Western Balkans. This initiative equips young #energyadvisors and citizens affected by energy poverty with the knowledge and tools needed to actively engage in energy decision-making. It also raises community awareness about energy rights, strategies to manage costs, reduce consumption, and access support systems—all with the goal of fostering a fair and inclusive energy transition. ➡️ Project Highlights 🔹 Duration: 24 months (starting June 1, 2024) 🔹 Consortium: 7 EU organizations + 1 organization from the Western Balkans 🔹 Beneficiaries: 200+ citizens and 200 families ➡️ Goals 🔹 Map community energy needs 🔹 Provide tailored advice on energy savings 🔹 Raise awareness of energy rights and responsible energy use 📅 SAVE THE DATE From January 14 to 16, 2025, the @DIISM, in Aula B+ at @Università Politecnica delle Marche, will host an international training course for new energy advisors, featuring speakers and young participants from across Europe. 🎉 We are excited to announce that the Interreg IPA ADRION Programme “AIMS” project, launched on June 1st, 2024, has almost completed its first semester, with already many activities performed and deliverables achieved! ✅ The project, titled “Development and testing of a shared, AI-based predictive model for a coordinated use of big data and for a joint Monitoring System of landslides risk in the Adriatic-Ionian region”, aims to enhance resilience to climate change, natural, and man-made disasters in the Adriatic-Ionian region. Università Politecnica delle Marche is the Lead Partner, and we are proud to lead such a highly specialized and international team.
