We have completed our new 50,000 sqm SEGRO Logistics Park Rome South C. The building is located in the strategic site of Colleferro (Rome), just 2 km from the A1 Rome-Naples motorway, and is fully let to Unieuro S.p.A. In line with our #ResponsibleSEGRO commitment to Champion low-carbon growth, the building is equipped with a photovoltaic system with a total power of 3.4 MWp and is designed to facilitate sustainable transport with free electric vehicle charging stations for workers’ cars and to operate electric commercial fleets. The development also includes initiatives to maintain biodiversity, including the planting of 500 trees of different species specifically chosen to adapt to the environment and external climate of the place. To promote the well-being and comfort of workers, the building offers an office terrace with a ‘green roof’, as well as canteen areas, changing rooms and bathrooms with large spaces to facilitate accessibility for all workers. SEGRO plc launches its Community Investment Plan in Italy!   This initiative forms part of our #ResponsibleSEGRO commitment to Investing in local communities and environments.   Our first CIP project in Italy will take place at Castel San Giovanni (PC) – our logistics hub spanning approximately 500,000 sq m.   By 2026, we hope to complete several impactful community projects, including:   👉 Redeveloping local playgrounds: The Fontana Pradosa playground will be expanded to include accessible play areas, sustainable materials and new native trees to create a welcoming, green environment for families.   👉 Career pathways for students: Lower and upper secondary school students will have access to career workshops and hands-on insights into the logistics sector, building connections with industry experts to spark interest in future careers.   👉 Youth workforce integration: We’re committed to supporting young people who are not currently in education or employment (NEETs) by connecting them with opportunities in the workforce.   Luca Emiliano Sorbara, Head of Italy at SEGRO, said:   "Our Community Investment Plans demonstrate how we are dedicated to delivering lasting economic and social benefits to the communities we operate in. New buildings are coming to SEGRO Logistics Park Naples!   The project comprises two modern and highly technological fully let buildings, which will create a total 17,500 sqm of new warehouse and logistics space.   The two buildings will complete our SEGRO Logistics Park Naples bringing it to a total 67,000 sqm entirely let to leading national and international customers.   Both new buildings are targeting BREEAM Excellent certification.   In line with our #ResponsibleSEGRO commitment to sustainable development, the project will include green areas which aim to increase local biodiversity to a level higher than prior to the start of works.   Luca Emiliano Sorbara, Head of Italy, said: “The construction of these two new assets demonstrates how it is possible to create modern and technology-enabled buildings respecting the highest standards of sustainability, wellbeing, energy efficiency and reduction of CO2 emissions. As a creator of exceptional buildings we rely on exceptional people to lead the way forward.   We’ve appointed Luca Emiliano Sorbara as Head of Italy, responsible for operations and continuing to grow and enhance our portfolio in the Italian market – the fourth largest in the Group by value.   Luca has been SEGRO’s Co-head of Italy since April 2023 during which time he has overseen the full integration of Vailog into SEGRO following our acquisition of the final 5% of shares in April 2023, as well as a number of strategic acquisitions and disposals. We have completed a new 17,000 sqm logistics facility within Interporto Sud Europa.    The building “SEGRO Logistics Park Naples 3” is fully let to SDA Poste Italiane and it follows the 35,000 sqm already developed within the park.   Designed as a cross-docking facility, SEGRO Logistics Park Naples 3 will serve as a sorting centre, enabling our client to benefit from a highly technological and efficient structure capable of ensuring a fully automated distribution chain for the receipt, sorting and shipping of goods. The facility is designed to offer an optimal working environment, featuring various usable outdoor areas and a modern, bright office space where the choice of materials and the use of large windows are aimed at ensuring workers’ wellbeing. In line with our #ResponsibleSEGRO strategy of Investing in our local communities and the environment, the building has been built according to the “BREEAM Excellent” standards and is provided with outdoor green spaces focused on biodiversity protection and the preservation of the typical local flora, which are complemented by a lemon grove with 100 lemon trees planted in the areas surrounding the new development.
