𝗩𝗶𝗮 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗮 𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶 𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗶 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗼 𝗻𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗲 📊 L’interesse per il turismo outdoor e i cammini italiani, con la #ViaFrancigena in primo piano, continua a crescere. Negli ultimi giorni, due importanti eventi hanno sottolineato il ruolo centrale di questi itinerari nel panorama turistico nazionale. ✅ Il 23 e 24 novembre, a Venezia, una delegazione di AEVF ha partecipato agli Stati Generali del #TurismoOutdoor, contribuendo attivamente ai tavoli di lavoro organizzati nell'ambito della manifestazione. Un’occasione preziosa per confrontarsi con gli altri stakeholder chiave del settore su best practice e linee guida condivise per lo sviluppo del turismo lungo i cammini. ✅ Una settimana prima, la Ministra al Turismo Daniela Santanchè, scarponcini ai piedi, si era nuovamente messa in cammino sulla Via Francigena in Toscana, questa volta nel tratto versiliese da Pietrasanta a Valpromaro. Durante il cammino, ha incontrato direttamente gli operatori dell'accoglienza, dialogando con chi opera in prima linea nell’ospitalità ai pellegrini. 🌍 Promoting Sustainable Tourism and Healthy Lifestyles along various EU routes 🌿 In October and November, the European Association of the Via Francigena (EAVF) took part in the project partners’ activities in #Greece and #Türkiye for the European project #HIKE. These events provided an excellent opportunity to best practices exchange and promotion of healthy lifestyles through outdoor activities and sustainable tourism. 📅 In October EAVF team hiked along the historic #ViaEgnatia. This iconic route, which once connected Western and Eastern Europe, offers a deep historical and cultural experience across the Balkans. Hikers explored stunning stages near Edessa, renowned for its waterfalls, thanks to the dedicated efforts of our project partner, Paths of Greece. 📅 In November the events in Türkiye organized by Culture Routes Society were focused on outdoor activities, networking, and fostering collaboration. A highlight was discovering the Tolerance Way, a route in the Kocaeli region, which connects Izmit and Iznik, symbolizing peaceful coexistence among diverse communities. Via Francigena has been selected to participate in the EU Policy Action Lab, organized by the European Rural Pact Support Office of the European Union on 28 November in Brussels. This workshop is focused on identifying the best policy tools for supporting rural areas at institutional, governance, and operational levels. Key discussions will address ways to make crucial information on rural policy tools and funding more accessible, without increasing administrative burdens. 🌍 The European Association of the Via Francigena Ways (#EAVF) brings a cross-border perspective to the development of slow tourism, focusing on boosting local economies and enriching communities along the predominantly rural route of 3,200 km through 16 regions. Our commitment is highlighted through several impactful European projects: - rurAllure (#Horizon2020): Connecting cultural heritage sites along historic pilgrimage routes to promote rural tourism and deepen cultural engagement. - #HIKE (#ErasmusSport): Enhancing healthy lifestyle via a holistic hiking experience along the rural areas combined with cultural and sports experiences. - #DETOUR (#COSME): Empowering rural businesses along the walking routes and facilitating access of the SMEs to the financial resources Through these initiatives, EAVF aims to create a vibrant, sustainable future for regions along the Via Francigena and beyond. 🚀 On 1st November 2024, the #DETOUR project officially kicked off – an ambitious EU funded initiative under the COSME program, aimed at strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystems along the European historic routes, including the #ViaFrancigena in Italy, Lycian way in Turkey, Sultan’s train in Bulgaria and a network of mountainous routes in Greece. Coordinated by the Municipality of #Fidenza together with seven international partners, DETOUR promotes the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in rural areas. 📈 In Italy, the project focuses on the Via Francigena stretch from #Pavia to #Berceto, with the goal of providing SMEs with training to improve digital skills, adopt renewable energy solutions, and create innovative tourist packages.   🌍 With a budget of 2 million euros and a three-year timeline, DETOUR is committed to enhancing sustainable tourism, creating lasting benefits for local communities along the Mediterranean’s historic pilgrimage routes.
