President Donald Trump’s recent vow to ‘take back’ the Panama Canal has sparked global attention in recent weeks. This development raises significant questions for global trade, including its potential impact on shipping companies like DS NORDEN. With approximately 8% of our business passing through the Panama Canal this trade corridor plays an important role in our operations. TV2 News visited our Copenhagen office this morning to discuss the potential impact of the situation for the shipping industry. While the situation of the Panama Canal remains uncertain, NORDEN is no stranger to navigating challenges and our adaptability positions us well to face changes in the global trade landscape. Thank you to TV2 News for taking the time to talk with us.

DS NORDEN and leading global logistics company C.H. Robinson strengthen their commercial partnership by completing the first book and claim transaction between the parties to reduce carbon emissions in marine transportation. Our emissions reductions solution enables NORDEN’s direct customers and clients in other industries which are dependent on marine transportation to decarbonise their supply chains, in an environment with limited geographic biofuels availability. NORDEN uses a framework developed by the Smart Freight Centre to transfer the emissions reductions resulting from using biofuel in our operations to CH Robinson. The reductions are validated by an independent verifier, Normec Verifavia and transacted on an external registry through 123Carbon, ensuring a high degree of transparency and assurance. Learn more about NORDEN’s biofuel and book and claim solutions here: https://lnkd.in/e-UstGGq

Today, I'm very happy to share this good news. Our two Ivorian cadets El Hadj Cherif and Leonel Dubois Oulai are safely back at home after 09 months onboard DS NORDEN's vessels. Their journey represents the fulfillment of a dream—to become professional seafarers—and we are incredibly proud to share that they received excellent appraisals from their on-board mentors, a testament to their dedication and the quality of their training (a nod to the Académie Régionale des Sciences et Techniques de la Mer for the quality of training) A heartfelt thank you to DS NORDEN and our dedicated colleagues who made this life-changing opportunity possible. In a world where on-board internships remain a critical challenge, particularly in Africa, DS NORDEN continues to lead the way in creating pathways for young talent to thrive in the maritime industry. Also thanks to Synergy Marine Group Together, we’re shaping a brighter future for the maritime world. #MaritimeEducation #NORDEN #FutureSeafarers #Africa #Mentorship #Empowerment #Cadetship
