Each time I attend the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, I am reminded of the valuable contributions that NEC Corporation technologies, as a Japan-based organization, are making around the world.   This was my fourth time joining the conference as CEO, where I have been able to interact with fellow executives and government leaders who are shaping the world we live in. Once again, the advancement of AI was a main topic of conversation. I participated in a panel session on environmental pollution, where we highlighted the contributions that new technologies can make to resolving this worldwide challenge. In addition to advances in AI, there was also a great deal of conversation about the new U.S. administration and changing geopolitical trends.   Reflecting on the past year, we celebrated 125 years of the NEC Group as a technology company, which now employs more than 100,000 people worldwide. Today, NEC uses advanced AI to drive innovation across a wide range of industries, connects remote regions around the world with undersea cables, sends satellites into space to make observations on earth conditions, and supports everything from mail delivery to public safety with world-class image recognition.   The pace of change is accelerating, and we do not know what tomorrow will bring. In this environment, NEC Group technologies are extremely important to ensuring the safety and security of communities throughout the world. NEC has announced consolidated financial results for the nine-month period ended December 31, 2024.   Revenue and adjusted operating profit significantly increased year on year for the first nine months of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2025. This was mainly from domestic IT Services as well as Aerospace and National Security (ANS) business, resulting in progress beyond expectations towards achieving forecasts for the fiscal year.   In domestic IT Services, order booking increased significantly due to robust demand in projects for municipal governments as well as an increase in the number of digital transformation (DX) projects.   Details on financial results may be viewed through the following link: https://lnkd.in/di-auMm3   #NEC #NECglobal #FinancialResults

NEC and Biomy, Inc. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for a joint marketing partnership to develop and expand artificial intelligence/deep learning (AI/DL)-based analytical platforms in the field of digital pathology. At the end of last year, I had the fortunate opportunity to speak with Kensuke Hosomi, President of FamilyMart Co., Ltd., a leading convenience store operator in Japan and overseas. At the end of each year, I think it is important to reflect on how things have changed, whether economically, politically, or socially. As a business, the NEC Group celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2024, which caused me to look back on the past more than usual.     One thing that stands out as a common thread throughout the NEC Group’s history is the ability to drive and support change. This year was no exception.   Some of the most important elements of evolving as a business, include the partnerships that you build and how they serve as the foundation for co-creation.   In 2024, the NEC Group continued to successfully evolve, in terms of the trust we built among partners and communities, the digital transformations we delivered and the value our solutions provided for society.   Please see the following video for details.   And thank you everyone for your continued support. Welcome to our head office! 🏢💫 Every December, we hold the NEC Happy Holidays Campaign to express our appreciation to NEC Group employees and their families and loved ones for their support over the past year. 💐 This year, we once again held “NEC Happy Holidays Head Office Open Office” where we invited employees to bring their families and loved ones to NEC’s head office. 1,500 people participated and walked around the NEC head office building, taking in the history of the NEC Group and having fun learning about face recognition technology and space.
