🌍 From Ancient Innovations to Modern Collaborations: Adili Solar Hubs at the Codeway Expo in Rome! 🌍 Did you know that the Romans revolutionized architecture with their invention of concrete? This incredible material allowed them to build enduring structures like the iconic Colosseum, which stands tall even after nearly 2,000 years! 🏛️ Our founder, Kimani Gichuche, recently had the privilege of visiting this ancient marvel while in Rome for the CODEWAYEXPO. At the Expo, Kimani, proudly represented Adili Solar Hubs, engaging with Italian organizations and companies dedicated to international cooperation. Thanks to the E4Impact Foundation's Accelerator program in Kenya, financed by AICS La Habana - Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, we discussed the importance of creating operational partnerships between Italian companies and African enterprises During the "E4Impact Accelerator: the AICS initiative that connects African innovators with the best Italian companies" event, we explored ways to foster sustainable growth and market linkages between Kenya and Italy. As I was walking along takawiri island in Lake Victoria,I came across a fantastic example of climate adaptation and resilience on the island. This image shows gabion walls, cages filled with rocks, being used to break the tides and protect the shoreline from erosion. The area protected by the gabion wall shows minimal impact from the higher water level. It's a testament to the resourcefulness of the people here, who are finding innovative solutions to the challenges posed by a rising sea water level.Adili Solar Hubs Limited #ClimateAction #ClimateChange #ClimateChangeadoption #privaboo

Takawiri Island,A Natural Paradise One of the gems of Takawiri Island is its natural environment. The beaches boast pristine, natural beauty. As you approach Takawiri Island, you'll be greeted by the sight of the famous Mbasa Island. This island serves as a sanctuary for birds – a true bird island. When you arrive on Takawiri, you'll be welcomed by a peaceful and serene environment with fresh, clean air and no noise pollution. For years, the island lacked electricity and proper infrastructure, with no roads or power grid. This recently changed with the installation of an off-grid power station by REREC In terms of development, Takawiri and Mbasa Island are quite similar. The key difference is that Takawiri is inhabited by both humans and birds, while Mbasa Island is a haven for birds and other wildlife. Infrastructure wise the two are similar Exploring Takawiri Island on foot is a delightful experience. Absence of roads means relying on your own two legs to get around. There are no bicycles, motorbikes, or cars. But this very characteristic contributes to the charm of the nature walk. Throughout your exploration, you'll be entertained by the beautiful birds and the welcoming nature of the island's people. The biggest challenge for the residents of Takawiri is access to affordable, clean drinking water. At the moment, clean water is transported to the island by boat or water bus from Mbita, Making it expensive for the islanders to afford Adili Solar Hubs Limited is on a mission to help the island residents. With the support of Renewable Energy World Renewable World , Kenya Climate Innovation Center (KCIC), and other stakeholders, we aim to make clean water affordable and accessible. Last week, I completed the 4th online session of PrivaBoo's program on climate change adaptation and resilience (2nd and 3rd core group workshops).under GIZ Kenya ,Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH This insightful workshop equipped me with valuable tools and frameworks to measure and communicate the impact of climate solutions. The importance of these tools became strikingly clear when I came across this image of a submerged fish banda on Takawiri Island in Lake Victoria. For generations, fishermen here have relied on this banda to sell their catches. The rising water levels,which is as a result of climate change, have threatened their way of life. Fish stocks have declined, and the once busy banda sits silent in the middle of the water. The community is adapting, seeking new solutions to ensure a sustainable future for themselves and the lake. This story from Lake Victoria exemplifies the challenges communities face due to climate change. With the knowledge I gained from PrivaBoo, I feel compelled to share this story and inspire action. Sustainable fishing practices and innovative solutions for rising water levels are crucial. Effective impact measurement, as championed by PrivaBoo, will ensure our efforts truly build resilience for Lakes and their people.
