ALiVE Programme Tanzania and Zanzibar teams have been creating awareness on how to enhance the nurturing of #Values and #LifeSkills among parents and teachers. The exercise aims to reach 300 people and further extend to the general public through a campaign done via local meetings and through mainstream media. This follows a successful co-creation of a PTA engagement plan, championed by 5 VaLi member organizations #MlileleZanzibarFoundation, #OrganizationforCommunityDevelopment, #SAZANITrust, #GLAMITanzania, #SAWAWanawakeTanzania. The two-month campaign targets 3 districts in Tanzania mainland (Bagamoyo, Morogoro and Mvomero) and 3 others in Zanzibar (South, North and Central districts). At least 4 television stations (Channel Ten, TBC, Zanzibar Cable, Abood Tv) 3 radio stations (Kids Times, Bahari FM- Zanzibar, UN Radio), 2 newspapers (Daily Newspaper, and Zanzibar Leo), and 1 online Newspaper (The Loyal Media.com) have covered our campaign for life skills and values in Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar. “We must embrace technology to enhance learning experience. Previously, teachers spent a quarter of the lesson time drawing on and rubbing off the chalkboard. Today, simple concepts in science or math can be illustrated using videos and virtual reality. This is the way to improve learning outcomes, especially for those facing learning difficulty and those with special needs," John Mugo, Executive Director of Zizi Afrique Foundation and Principal Investigator of ALiVE Programme. #KEPSHAconference2024 #ALiVEatKEPSHA See the full presentation here: https://lnkd.in/dnCfp5At Learn more about our work on www.alive-reli.org
