🍎 "Passion ni Matunda" ?
We’ve all heard this phrase that speaks to the heart of what we face as a country - that passion is a fruit. But at Numeral IOT - IOT for Africa, it was clear that passion transforms challenges into opportunities when paired with resilience. As Elon Musk, founder of SpaceX with the audacious vision to land people on Mars, puts it: "When something is important enough, you do it even if the odds are not in your favor."
This must resonate deeply with Morris Mbetsa, the founder of Numeral IoT, and his team. They’ve poured their passion into creating Africa’s largest IoT service platform, aiming to make cutting-edge technology accessible across the continent. Through affordable solutions, innovative products, and in-house manufacturing, they show that we shape our future when we dare to dream big. As Alan Kay said, "The best way to predict the future is by inventing it."
🚀 Insights from Numeral IOT - IOT for Africa
After completing a comprehensive 5-session IoT training by the IEEE University Of Nairobi Student Branch, IEEE University of Nairobi Robotics and Automation Society, IEEE Microwave Theory and Technology University of Nairobi Student Branch Chapter, Angaza Elimu, and IEEE CASS UoN, we had the incredible opportunity to visit Numeral IoT and dive deep into their operations. Here’s what we learned:
• Affordability at the core: Numeral IoT is designing smart solutions for Africa’s price-sensitive markets.
• Surface Mount Technology (SMT): We saw how this advanced manufacturing technique efficiently produces IoT devices at scale.
• Innovative Products: From smart meters to vehicle tracking systems and IoT-enabled gas systems, each product is a step towards solving real-world challenges.
• IoT Platform: Their robust system for data storage, analysis, and cybersecurity ensures a secure and reliable connection for devices, empowering businesses and individuals alike.
💡 Turning Passion into Innovation
This experience reinforced a powerful lesson: passion ignites the vision, but innovation fuels the journey. It reminded us that IoT is not just a trend but a transformative tool reshaping industries and creating new opportunities in Africa and beyond.
What role will you play in building the future you envision? How can we, together, turn our passion into impactful solutions?
Or shall we continue partaking of the passion fruit? KIPROP ELIJAH, Lenox Ndeda Onyango, Kithinji Muriungi
