Why Training Matters in Health Supply Chain Management? ✅ 15.6 healthcare personnel per 10,000 citizens in Kenya—far below the WHO-recommended 23/10,000. Poor technical capacity leads to stockouts and inefficiencies. ✅ Workforce development is critical to achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC). PSA Academy’s Foundation of Health Supply Chain Management Course equips professionals with essential skills in procurement, warehousing, logistics, and forecasting. Learn at your pace with our self-paced courses or book virtual/in-house training for your team. Strategies for Northern Development (SND) recently participated in a groundbreaking co-creation session held on 20th and 21st November 2024 in Moyale, Marsabit County. The event, organized by the Fritz Institute in collaboration with USAID - Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance, brought together key stakeholders to shape a localized humanitarian supply chain model tailored to Kenya’s unique needs. This initiative aligns with the principles of localization, recognizing the vital role of local organizations in disaster response and advancing the Grand Bargain’s commitment to direct 25% of humanitarian funding to local responders. The session involved: ✅ Simulating humanitarian response scenarios to review supply chain operations. ✅ Evaluating supply chain maturity. ✅ Conducting root cause analyses and co-creating solutions to identified challenges. ✅ Designing an actionable implementation roadmap with timelines, indicators, and defined roles for localization. SND’s participation highlights our commitment to strengthening local capacity and ensuring sustainable, community-driven solutions in humanitarian aid. We look forward to implementing the lessons learned and contributing to a more localized and effective humanitarian response system in Kenya. #SustainableDevelopment #CommunityEmpowerment Akinyi Awora Thomas Ogalo Otieno Ng'ong'a Pamela Steele Associates

Localization is the cornerstone of sustainable humanitarian response, ensuring solutions are context-specific, community-driven, and resilient. During the co-creation session in Moyale, hosted by the Fritz Institute and SNDAfrica, using Human Centred Design that facilitated a deep dive into SND’s supply chain maturity through root cause analysis, operational simulations, and stakeholder engagement. Together, we identified critical gaps, co-designed solutions, and developed a comprehensive implementation roadmap with clear milestones, defined roles, and measurable indicators for success. This effort demonstrates the power of aligning global expertise with local knowledge to create equitable, efficient, and sustainable humanitarian responses. But challenges remain. How do we ensure that localization doesn’t stop at planning but translates into actionable, measurable impact on the ground? We’d love to hear your thoughts on overcoming barriers to full localization in humanitarian supply chains. #LocalizationMatters #HumanitarianAid #SupplyChainInnovation #CollaborativeSolutions #EmpoweringCommunities #SustainableDevelopment #PSAImpact #FritzInstitute #SND
