Strathmore University hosted the Accelerating Women’s Empowerment in Energy (AWEE) Gender Mainstreaming Workshop under the theme: "Better Workplaces for Women in the Renewable Energy Sector: Building A Resilient Renewable Energy System".  The workshop brought together women and men with rich backgrounds and profound professional experiences in the renewable energy sector and was an excellent platform to discuss, exchange and innovate ideas or action plans towards the enhancement and upgrade of the existing gender policies and pushing for their implementation. This will have a great impact towards sustainable energy systems in Kenya. 🌍 The Council of Engineers for Energy Transition (CEET) is on the ground in Baku, Azerbaijan for #COP29! Yesterday, our Council members had the opportunity to tour the Garadagh Solar Plant - the largest solar PV power facility in the Caspian region. This remarkable site, made possible through a collaboration between the Azerbaijani Ministry of Energy, Azerenergy OJSC, and UAE-based "Masdar," produces 500 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually. In doing so, it helps conserve 110 million cubic meters of natural gas, underscoring the region's commitment to a sustainable energy future. #RenewableEnergy
