🇪🇺🤝🇰🇬 #BOMCA10 supports efforts to combat human trafficking in Kyrgyzstan. 🗓️ On 17 December, BOMCA 10 participated in the presentation of an alternative report on combating human trafficking. 🔹 Members of the Council on migration and combating human trafficking, Jogorku Kenesh deputies, representatives of state bodies, international organisations and independent experts attended the report presentation. 📑 The Alternative Report identified shortcomings in the current anti-trafficking system and proposed concrete measures to improve it. 💡 The report contributed to raising public and stakeholder awareness of this important topic, which is an important step in addressing the issue at both national and international levels. #BOMCA #EU4KG

BOMCA is the flagship and the largest EU-funded Programme in Central Asia, 10th phase.
About us
Its current 10th phase (BOMCA 10) has started on April 1, 2021 for the period of 54 months with the budget of 21.65 million Euros. BOMCA 10 is implemented by the consortium of border management institutions of the selected EU MSs and International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) led by the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia. The Programme aims to enhance security, stability and sustainable growth in the region, while supporting cross-border cooperation and improving living conditions for people in the border areas of Central Asia. Thematically, BOMCA 10 covers four components: institutional development of border management agencies, improvement of detection capacities, trade facilitation, and improvement of cross-border cooperation. Geographically, the project covers all five countries of Central Asia. This page was created and maintained with the financial support of the European Union. 🇪🇺🤝🇰🇬#BOMCA10 enhances forensic capacities of the Ministry of Interior of Kyrgyzstan with modern biometric technology. 🗓️ On 13 December, the Forensic Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan received cutting-edge biometric equipment valued at EUR 25,305. 7 palm print scanners equipped with advanced technology will help: ✅speed up and improve the accuracy of fingerprint and palm print identification, ✅ gradually replace outdated methods, ✅ significantly reduce data processing time. 🔹With supply of this equipment, mobile teams will be able to conduct efficient forensic examination of particularly offensive crimes. #BOMCA #EU4KG

#BOMCA10 strengthens regional cooperation through innovative approaches in education On 11 December, BOMCA 10 organised a regional workshop on evaluation of teaching staff performance. The online workshop was attended by the representatives of border guard and customs training institutions from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The expert from the Higher Border Institute of Tajikistan presented key approaches and methods of evaluation and shared best practices of their application in educational activities. Following the workshop results, the participants improved their knowledge on evaluation of teacher’s performance and use of evaluation results for the personal and professional development of teaching staff, as well as shared their experience in implementing such systems in their training institutions. #BOMCA #EU4CA

#BOMCA10 ensures stable customs operations in Turkmenistan: The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan received vital equipment for a total of EUR 9,718. 10 UPS systems for servers and X-ray scanners will improve the stability of the power supply, helping to minimise disruptions and delays at the border crossing points. Additionally, backup power sources will ensure stable and reliable operation of «ASYCUDA World» and «Single Window» systems. This support should improve the infrastructure stability of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, enhancing efficiency of its operations, boosting security and supporting smoother trade. #BOMCA #EU4TKM #BorderManagement

#BOMCA10 strengthens Kyrgyz Customs Service anti-smuggling capacities On 10 December, the State Customs Service of the Kyrgyz Republic received specialised equipment worth EUR 9,718. New equipment, including laptops, interactive board, scanners, speakerphone, car inverters, and video wall controller, will enhance customs operations at the border regions, ensure effective communication and coordination with the central office, and will support international cooperation in anti-smuggling initiatives. #BOMCA10 supports border management in Tajikistan. On 2-5 December in Dushanbe, BOMCA 10 organised a seminar on integrated border management and assessment of the implementation of the National Border Management Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan and its Action Plan. The activity was held in partnership with the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe, UNDP, UNHCR and the IOM Mission in Tajikistan. The participating agencies were presented EU best practices in the field of border security, as well as modern mechanisms for cooperation and risk analysis in this field. By the end of the seminar, participants enhanced their understanding of international practices in applying Integrated Border Management (IBM) principles, explored the benefits of the risk analysis system and successful IBM implementation, and gained insight into modern cooperation models and the outcomes of the National Border Management Strategy for 2010-2025. #BOMCA10 #BOMCA

#BOMCA10 enhances communication at customs posts of Turkmenistan: State Customs Service of Turkmenistan received specialised equipment for a total of EUR 82,811. The top-edge communication equipment received by the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan elevates the operational efficiency of the customs posts across the country. 110 portable radio devices will ensure seamless communication between headquarters, regional units and customs posts. Esbulatov equipping one of the classes of the Training Centre for specialists in combating organised crime. #BOMCA 10 enhances training capacities in border control procedures in Kyrgyzstan: the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic received specialised equipment for a total of EUR 87,844. The provided document verification devices, as well as computer and office equipment, are intended to equip the classroom of the Border Faculty of the Military Institute of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the Centre for Advanced Training and Retraining of Military Personnel of the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic.
