On 15th November , at #COP29 in the Blue Zone (Pavilion F8), we had the honor of hosting a side event: Green Buildings for Climate Action: Best Practices for Low-Carbon Development and Enablers for Regional Integration. It was truly inspiring to engage with experts and speakers who shared their invaluable insights on how green building practices can help Central Asia achieve its climate goals. With the region’s average temperatures rising 1.5 times faster than the global average, energy-efficient, resource-conscious building solutions are crucial to addressing challenges like shrinking water resources, soil degradation, and unsustainable urban growth. Our discussions revolved around: ✅ Integrating green building standards into Nationally Determined Contributions (#NDCs). ✅ Fostering regional collaboration for climate resilience. ✅ Promoting sustainable, low-carbon construction practices to decouple urban growth from greenhouse gas emissions. An incredible and productive experience working on Kyrgyzstan’s tourism sector initiatives. Excited to continue this journey, driving sustainable growth and preserving our country's natural beauty and heritage.

The Unison Group is proud of successful finalization of the #PERETO project, which has made significant strides in promoting sustainable consumption and production (SCP) in tourism sector of #Kyrgyzstan, which was implemented from March 2020 to August 2024 with generous support of EU SWITCH-Asia Official. Through dedicated partnerships and tireless efforts, PERETO has become a leading brand in #SCP, empowering both individuals and organizations to adopt more sustainable practices. A special focus has been placed on the #HORECA (Hotel, Restaurant, Café) industry, recognizing its vital role in fostering green practices within #tourism. Our #PERETO Help Desk Advisors provided essential guidance and support to over 2,700 HORECA #SMEs, assisting them in implementing SCP strategies that reduce environmental impact, increase resource efficiency, and promote eco-friendly tourism experiences. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our project consortium partners American University of Central Asia (AUCA), Collaborating Centre on Sustainable Consumption and Production (CSCP) and Technopolis Group, whose professionalism, passion, and commitment made this project a resounding success. Together, we have built a lasting #legacy that will continue to inspire and shape the future of sustainability in the tourism industry and beyond.
