Powering Lebanon's next generation.
نبذة عنا
CodeBrave is responding to Lebanon’s urgent need to equip the next generation with the tech and cognitive skills that align with the demands of the future workforce. Having started as a grassroots project at an orphanage in Kahaleh, we have since taught 3,000 students at 40 schools and centres. We believe all children have the right to a great education and future opportunities to fulfill their potential. We have a bold vision: to introduce Coding and AI education as standard for all children in Lebanon starting at age 10. This initiative will be transformative for Lebanon, creating opportunities for young people and boosting the economy. This is a smart solution to an urgent problem: 88% of Lebanese tech companies report struggling to find the talent they need, while the tech sector in MENA is projected to grow fourfold from 2022-2030. Yet, schools in Lebanon leave youth ill-equipped, teaching an IT curriculum last updated in 1997, with youth unemployment at 48%. Candidates with tech skills can fill gaps at local companies or work remotely to meet the growing need in the region. We operate through two modalities: trained CodeBrave teachers directly delivering classes to students, or by upskilling local school teachers through intensive training and coaching to deliver our accredited curriculum to their students. Since 2020, we’ve come a long way: - 2,513 students aged 7-21 gained coding, robotics, and digital skills with CodeBrave, mainly through classes delivered as part of their school timetable - 53% of our students are female. - Over 85,587 hours of collective student learning. - 15 schools have been upskilled through teacher training to deliver coding & robotics education independently. - 93% positive outcomes from our WebDev graduates (securing internships, jobs or university scholarships).

When the war escalated in September, we worked to keep education going for children however possible. As well as continuing our online programmes, we set up classes at 7 shelters across Lebanon—providing game-based coding classes using engaging, hands-on robotics projects to captivate children’s interest and build science, maths and programming skills for the future. Education is a lifeline that must continue. Contribute to our work on: codebrave.org #EducationCantWait #PoweringYouth #CodeBrave #TechEducation #Lebanon #SkillsForLife #TechForGood

Education Can’t Wait — Even in Times of War With over 350,000 children displaced in Lebanon and out of school, CodeBrave started bringing tech education directly to kids in shelters, offering game-based coding and robotics classes that build essential literacy, numeracy, and science skills. Our goal is to reach 800 children across 10 shelters and keep their education going. Our hands-on, trauma-informed approach offers kids hope, stability, and a much-needed break from the chaos around them. Help us keep education alive. “Coding is not just about programming computers; it's about programming a brighter future for our nation.” Abdallah joined CodeBrave at age 17 two years ago. He excelled in class and his teachers always spoke about the extra effort he puts into his projects. While learning with us, Abdallah won a full scholarship to study Computer Science at LAU. 8 months into our Web Dev Programme, he and three students built a website for their first professional client, Tekmek Engineering Solutions, sarl, a Lebanese engineering firm. Today, Abdallah is interning at a tech company in Beirut while preparing for his third year at university. Let Abdallah take you on a journey with a text he’s written himself: https://lnkd.in/dsCNmwRb #PoweringYouth #CodeBrave #TechEducation #Lebanon #TechForGood #FutureReady

“Coding lessons got me excited about learning again. At the end of every session, I can’t wait for the next one! Coding is fun and allows me to create whatever I want. The programme was a chance to make a real difference in my life.” Like many youth in Lebanon, Vera* struggled to access quality education, especially after the 2019 economic crisis. Transferring to a public school demotivated her, but joining CodeBrave last November reignited her passion for learning. Vera has already mastered Python, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Last month, she started an internship with two other Web Dev students, building a website for her village’s mill. "We just finished designing the website on FIGMA - I was in charge of the checkout pages. I'm really enjoying the creative work and it's been interesting to deal with a real client. I can't wait for us to start coding the website." Read a small text she’s written herself about her life and coding journey so far: https://lnkd.in/dfC8DYrq #PoweringYouth #CodeBrave #TechEducation #Lebanon #TechForGood #FutureReady

400 leaps forward, and that’s just the beginning… This October, 400 public school students will embark on life-changing tech education journeys with 4 CodeBrave-trained teachers. By upskilling teachers at under-resourced schools, students who previously lacked access to tech education will now have the tools to build brighter futures and dream bigger. This is how we power Lebanon’s next generation with essential tech skills to thrive in the future workforce. With thanks to the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives in Lebanon for funding this project.
