A Meal Out of Reach 🍽️ World Vision found that the cost of basic food items in Lebanon has surged, now 9 times more expensive than in 2021. Families, already struggling with inflation, are facing a deeper crisis after the recent conflict, with many skipping meals to cope. World Vision is providing food and cash assistance, but more support is needed. #ENOUGH #Lebanon #WeAreWorldVision

🚨 300+ schools were damaged, 33 destroyed, and 60% of public schools repurposed as shelters, leaving 27% of children out of school and disrupting their education. We’re working with partners to restore learning spaces and expand e-learning opportunities, but urgent support is needed. Together, we can reignite hope and ensure every child has the chance to learn and thrive. #WeAreWorldVision #EducationInCrisis #Lebanon

With the extension of the 60-day cessation of hostilities in Lebanon, many families remain displaced, unable to return to their villages in the south. Our team is on the ground, assessing urgent needs and supporting both those who have returned and those whose return is still on hold. #WeAreWorldVision #HumanitarianResponse #Lebanon

In the face of political instability, the COVID-19 pandemic, and a deepening economic crisis, #education in #Lebanon has been severely disrupted. To support the most vulnerable children, World Vision in Lebanon, with funding from the Lebanon Humanitarian Fund (LHF) / United Nations OCHA and in partnership with Hadatha, is offering retention sessions to help students catch up and regain confidence in their studies. These 162 sessions are directly benefitting 800 children across the North of Lebanon, and the results are already heartwarming. On this International Day of Education, we reflect on our recent visit to Al-Arida in Akkar, near the Lebanon-Syria border. This school is one of over 300 damaged during the conflict, 33 were destroyed, and 60% were repurposed as shelters. Approximately 27% of children and youth in Lebanon are out of school. We’re working with our partners and the Lebanese government to restore spaces for learning and expand e-learning opportunities. But we urgently need your support to do more. #international_day_of_education #WeAreWorldVision #EducationforAll

WFP Executive Director Cindy McCain recently visited the work of World Vision Lebanon as part of the long-standing partnership in delivering #humanitarian action to #displaced populations in the country. During her visit, McCain was briefed by Therese Boulous, Programme Manager for World Vision Lebanon, on its efforts to provide over 1,500 daily meals at a shelter for #Syrian families in Bekaa. This north-eastern region of #Lebanon has been deeply affected by the recent escalation, which displaced and re-displaced more than 1 million people across the country. Since the escalation in September 2024, World Vision Lebanon has provided more than 3.6 million meals, along with hygiene kits, psychosocial support sessions, recreational kits and other core relief and winterisation items, to over 344,500 displaced people and the communities hosting them. This includes more than 120,000 children. World Vision has been partnering with WFP in Lebanon since 2012. World Vision | World Vision Middle East & Eastern Europe | World Food Programme
