We're proud that two members of Association of Lithuanian Stevedoring Companies made the top ten: KN Energies ranked 2nd 🥈, and Klaipeda Stevedoring Company BEGA placed 6th 🚢. Darius Šilenskis, CEO of KN Energies, attributed their success in 2023 to diversification of services, investments in flexibility and efficiency in the liquid energy product terminal segment, a high utilisation rate of the managed LNG infrastructure in Lithuania, and a breakthrough in international LNG projects. 🌍 Laimonas Rimkus, CEO of Klaipeda Stevedoring Company BEGA, shared that their strong performance was driven by increased partner confidence. In 2023, they completed several notable projects, including the transport of Orlen Lietuva's 1,500 t reactor—the largest homogeneous oversized cargo in the port’s history —and other significant shipments. 🔗 Discover the full Verslo žinios article in the comments section. #TransportLogistics #LNG #EnergyIndustry #SuccessStory

Yesterday, the Lithuanian radio programme Lietuvos diena broadcasted live from Klaipėda. Vaidotas Šileika, President of the Association of Lithuanian Stevedoring Companies, was interviewed in the mobile radio studio, where he discussed the situation of several thousand cars purchased by Belarusians and imported from the USA, which are currently stuck in the Port of Klaipėda. During the interview, he also shared insights into this year's cargo trends at the port. 🌊⚓️ 💬 "This year has been one of stability for the Port of Klaipėda, with a few percent growth in cargo, proving that we are on solid ground. It is encouraging to see that the port has already handled nearly 23 million tonnes of cargo this year. The growth in ro-ro cargo, metals, and general cargo is a pleasant surprise, giving us confidence that the Port of Klaipėda will finish 2024 with positive results," Vaidotas Šileika said. 🎧 Listen to the full interview here (in Lithuanian): https://lnkd.in/d8CFCKeZ #KlaipedaPort #CargoTrends #Logistics #Transportation

🌊⚓️Last Friday, the Association of Lithuanian Stevedoring Companies hosted a press breakfast, providing insights into Klaipėda Port's preliminary cargo handling results for the first half of the year. In H1 2024, Klaipėda Port successfully handled 16.35 million tonnes of cargo, marking a slight increase of 68,000 tonnes compared to the same period last year (16.282 million tonnes), as reported by the Association. This performance signifies a potential turnaround following two years of decline. 💬 "We are witnessing a clear stabilization in cargo volumes, suggesting a promising trend towards growth," Vaidotas Šileika, the president of the Association, shared during the press briefing in Klaipėda. Julius Kirsis, CEO of the Malkų įlankos terminalas, UAB, also noted early indications of a robust grain harvest this year. The initial batches of grain arriving at the port demonstrate promising quality. Kiršis estimates that Lithuania's overall harvest, encompassing pulses and oilseed rape, could reach approximately 8 million tonnes, with about half potentially passing through Klaipėda. 🧷For detailed insights on Klaipėda Port's performance in H1, visit: 🟣 https://lnkd.in/dPHjsfpd 🟣 https://lnkd.in/dQ48xAdm 🟣 https://lnkd.in/dTzeeUBw 🟣https://lnkd.in/dnMDgPZj 🟣https://lnkd.in/dwYiDHar #KlaipėdaPort #CargoHandling

Our association member, company Western Stevedoring, successfully managed the loading processes for the third synchronous condenser, essential for Lithuania's synchronization with the European electricity networks. 🛠 Upon receiving this exceptional cargo from Rotterdam in Klaipėda, special preparations were made at Western Stevedoring's quayside. The loading process utilized cranes both on the ship and within the Western Shipyard territory, along with equipment from external partners. The transporter for the synchronous condenser was assembled on-site, as were the required railway track structures. 🔁 After the cargo reached its destination via the specially constructed railway, the compensator's transportation equipment returned to the Western Stevedoring terminal in Klaipėda, was reloaded onto the vessel, and transported back to Germany. 👏 Congratulations on the successful completion of this crucial task! #Lithuania #EnergyIndependence #Stevedoring #Logistics #KlaipedaPort
