Association of Lithuanian Stevedoring Companies’ Post

🌊⚓️Last Friday, the Association of Lithuanian Stevedoring Companies hosted a press breakfast, providing insights into Klaipėda Port's preliminary cargo handling results for the first half of the year. In H1 2024, Klaipėda Port successfully handled 16.35 million tonnes of cargo, marking a slight increase of 68,000 tonnes compared to the same period last year (16.282 million tonnes), as reported by the Association. This performance signifies a potential turnaround following two years of decline. 💬 "We are witnessing a clear stabilization in cargo volumes, suggesting a promising trend towards growth," Vaidotas Šileika, the president of the Association, shared during the press briefing in Klaipėda. Julius Kirsis, CEO of the Malkų įlankos terminalas, UAB, also noted early indications of a robust grain harvest this year. The initial batches of grain arriving at the port demonstrate promising quality. Kiršis estimates that Lithuania's overall harvest, encompassing pulses and oilseed rape, could reach approximately 8 million tonnes, with about half potentially passing through Klaipėda. 🧷For detailed insights on Klaipėda Port's performance in H1, visit: 🟣 https://lnkd.in/dPHjsfpd 🟣 https://lnkd.in/dQ48xAdm 🟣 https://lnkd.in/dTzeeUBw 🟣https://lnkd.in/dnMDgPZj 🟣https://lnkd.in/dwYiDHar #KlaipėdaPort #CargoHandling
