What conclusion to our latest joint event featuring CAIA, EFPA, and CFA! Having successfully organized it for the second time, we can confidently say it was a fantastic success. Biba Homsy Homes delivered an insightful keynote speech, followed by a panel discussion that she expertly moderated. A special thank you to Tommaso Cervellati, MBA, CAIA for representing CAIA on this outstanding panel. Thanks also to Veronica Martinez Sotillo, Clément Robert, Philippe Noeltner, Dr. Eric Falk for their insighful contributions on the evolving landscape of blockchain. Three key messages resonated with me after the discussion: 1) the importance of embracing blockchain for transformation, 2) the necessity of legal and technical alignment, and 3) the opportunities and challenges posed by DeFi and Open Finance. Is Decentralization the Infrastructure We’ve Been Waiting For? ----loading---- We don’t think about infrastructure much - until it fails. A power outage, a data breach, or even a slow-loading website reminds us how much we rely on systems that are often fragile, opaque, and centralized. But what if we could rebuild those systems to be more resilient, transparent, and inclusive? That’s the promise of ✨ decentralized infrastructure ✨ It goes beyond blockchain - it’s about creating systems where: - Data is owned by individuals, not controlled by corporations. - Resilience comes from networks, not single points of failure. - Efficiency isn’t at the cost of trust or security. Take energy grids as an example. In a #decentralized model, households with solar panels aren’t just consumers - they’re participants in a peer-to-peer energy network, trading excess power directly. Or think about data storage: instead of relying on one company to hold your files, decentralized networks distribute them across nodes, making them more secure and accessible.
