👏It looks like we’ll start breaking this wall in Latvia. Estonia and Lithuania, dear neighbors, feel free to join us!
❗ Breaking the Wall of Underrepresented Baltics ❗ For years, I considered participating in the Falling Walls Lab. Four years ago, I finally decided to apply - only to discover there was no Lab in Latvia or anywhere else in the Baltics. Now, four years later, this remains unchanged. Thus, my priorities have shifted. It’s no longer about whether I win or even stand on that stage. What truly matters is that early-career researchers from the Baltics have access to high-level opportunities like the Falling Walls Lab. For them, it could be a transformative experience - a chance to present breakthrough ideas, connect with an international community, and use this platform as a springboard. Thank you to the Falling Walls Foundation for inviting me to attend this year’s Science Summit. Witnessing 100 passionate early-career researchers, entrepreneurs and science communicators from over 50 countries pitch their hearts out was pure inspiration. More than 1,000 attendees filled the summit with enthusiasm, diversity, and incredible energy. It turns out that the platform also serves as a connector, linking people from many major initiatives: Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings, European Research Council (ERC), #MSCA, European Space Agency - ESA, DAAD German Academic Exchange Service, and other organizations well-known to early-career researchers. So, when will this wall fall? 📸 Falling Walls Foundation Latvijas Universitate Latvijas Jauno zinātnieku apvienība #FallingWallsLab #FallingWalls #ScienceSummit
