On 20 January 2025, COPPE/UFRJ and UK-based Global OTEC signed a landmark MoU to advance Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (#OTEC) technology in Brazil. This two-year partnership will focus on research, knowledge sharing, and innovation to showcase OTEC's potential for clean, reliable power generation. 🚀 LandShift Project Launched. The €6M Horizon Europe-funded LandShift project aims for climate-neutral land use in Europe by 2035. Over 36 months, it will test solutions in five rural "Living Spaces" using AI, Earth Observation, and Data Cubes to balance climate action, biodiversity, and sustainability. “LandShift empowers communities and restores ecosystems,” said Ioannis Varvaris, Scientific Coordinator.
