In the past week, I had the honor of participating as a board member of IOPCG - Institut Ovlašćenih Procjenjivača Crne Gore/The Institute of Certified Valuers of Montenegro alongside President Sanja Radovic MSc REV at the TEGOVA European Valuation Conference in Brussels: - "Launch of European Valuation Standards 2025" and - "Valuers and AVM- State of the Art and State of the Play", followed by the General Assembly, where new board members and the chairman were elected. Congratulations to Paulo Barros Trindade REV, REV-BV from ASAVAL - Associação das Sociedades de Avaliação e Avaliadores de Portugal on his new role. TEGOVA contains 78 member associations representing 70.000 valuers in 40 countries. The many connections, networking opportunities, and engaging discussions during past week were incredibly valuable for our ongoing work in the valuation field. While AI technologies in Automated Valuation Models (AVM) are indeed beneficial, the consensus is that reports will always require human involvement for review and verification, especially in ensuring the quality of data that these models utilize.
