     Sir James Bland Lamb, 1st Bt. was born on 8 June 1752 at Gibraltar^G.¹ He was the son of George Burgess and Hon. Anne Whichnour Somerville.² He married, firstly, Hon. Elizabeth Noel, daughter of Edward Noel, 1st Viscount Wentworth of Wellesborough and Judith Lamb, on 19 June 1777.² He married, secondly, Anne Montolieu, daughter of Lt.-Col. Louis Charles Montolieu, Baron de St. Hypolite and Elizabeth Leheup, on 16 December 1780 at St. George Hanover SQuare, London, England.^3,4 He married, thirdly, Lady Margaret Janet Lindsay, daughter of James Lindsay, 5th Earl of Balcarres and Anne Dalrymple, on 8 September 1812.³ He died on 13 October 1824 at age 72.¹ He died intestate and his estate was administered in November 1824.³
     He was given the name of James Bland Burgess at birth.⁵ He was educated at Westminster School, Westminster, London, England^G.² He matriculated at University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, on 7 January 1770.² He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1777 entitled to practise as a Barrister.² He held the office of Commissioner of Bankruptcy in 1777.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Belston between January 1787 and 1790.² He held the office of Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs between 1789 and 1795.² He held the office of Knight Marshal of the Royal Household.² He was created 1st Baronet Burges [Great Britain] on 21 October 1795.¹ He wrote the book The Birth and Triumph of Love (ASIN: 1165528274.)² On 25 October 1821 his name was legally changed to James Bland Lamb by Royal Licence.²
     He had nine other children by his second wife.³

     Lady Elizabeth Scot Lindsay was born on 11 October 1763.¹ She was the daughter of James Lindsay, 5th Earl of Balcarres and Anne Dalrymple.¹ She married Philip Yorke, 3rd Earl of Hardwicke, son of Hon. Charles Yorke and Katharine Freeman, on 24 July 1782. She died on 26 May 1858 at age 94.¹
     Her married name became Yorke. After her marriage, Lady Elizabeth Scot Lindsay was styled as Countess of Hardwicke on 16 May 1796.¹

     Philip Yorke, 3rd Earl of Hardwicke was born on 31 May 1757.¹ He was the son of Hon. Charles Yorke and Katharine Freeman.³ He married Lady Elizabeth Scot Lindsay, daughter of James Lindsay, 5th Earl of Balcarres and Anne Dalrymple, on 24 July 1782. He died on 18 November 1834 at age 77, without surviving male issue.¹
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cambridgeshire between 1780 and 1790.¹ He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1790 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire between 1790 and 1834.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Hardwicke [G.B., 1754] on 16 May 1796.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Viscount Royston, co. Cambridge [G.B., 1754] on 16 May 1796.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Hardwicke, of Hardwicke, co. Gloucester [G.B., 1733] on 16 May 1796.¹ He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.)¹ He was appointed Fellow, Society of Antiquaries (F.S.A.)¹ He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.)¹ He gained the rank of Colonel.¹ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1801.¹ He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland between 1801 and 1806.¹ He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1803.¹

     Charles Dalrymple was the son of Sir Robert Dalrymple and Anne Cuninghame.² He married, firstly, Elizabeth Edwin, daughter of John Edwin and Elizabeth Bradshaigh, on 29 September 1758 at London, England^G.¹
     He lived at North Berwick, East Lothian, Scotland^G.¹

     Sir Coutts Lindsay, 2nd Bt. was born on 2 February 1824.² He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Sir James Lindsay and Anne Trotter.¹ He married, firstly, Caroline Blanche Elizabeth Fitzroy, daughter of Rt. Hon. Henry FitzRoy and Hannah Mayer Rothschild, on 30 June 1864.² He married, secondly, Kate Harriet Burfield, daughter of William Burfield, on 10 August 1912.² He died on 7 May 1913 at age 89.³
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Trotter, of Westville, Lincolnshire [U.K., 1821] on 1 September 1837, under the special remainder of this title to his mother.² He gained the rank of Captain in the Grenadier Guards.² He was commander of the 1st Regiment, Italian Legion in 1854.² He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Fifeshire.² He fought in the Crimean War.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Fifeshire.² He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the Fife Volunteers between 1864 and 1884.²

     Caroline Blanche Elizabeth Fitzroy was the daughter of Rt. Hon. Henry FitzRoy and Hannah Mayer Rothschild.^1,2 She married Sir Coutts Lindsay, 2nd Bt., son of Lt.-Gen. Sir James Lindsay and Anne Trotter, on 30 June 1864.¹ She died on 4 August 1912.¹
     Her married name became Lindsay.

     Jasper Alexander Maurice Ridley was born on 20 April 1913 at London, England^G.¹ He was the son of Hon. Sir Jaspar Nicholas Ridley and Natalie Louise Gräfin von Benckendorff.^2,1 He married Hon. Helen Laura Cressida Bonham Carter, daughter of Sir Maurice Bonham Carter and Lady Helen Violet Asquith, Baroness Asquith of Yarnbury, on 8 June 1939.³ He died on 13 December 1944 at age 31 at Italy^G, killed in a minefield whilst trying to reach Allied lines.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He was educated at Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.¹ He was a practising barrister in 1938.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Kings Royal Rifle Corps.¹

     Kate Harriet Burfield was the daughter of William Burfield.¹ She married, secondly, Sir Coutts Lindsay, 2nd Bt., son of Lt.-Gen. Sir James Lindsay and Anne Trotter, on 10 August 1912.¹ She died on 4 April 1937.
     Her married name became Madley.¹ Her married name became Lindsay.

     Lt.-Col. Robert James Lindsay-Loyd, 1st and last Baron Wantage of Lockinge was born on 16 April 1832.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Sir James Lindsay and Anne Trotter.¹ He married Hon. Harriet Sarah Loyd, daughter of Samuel Jones Loyd, 1st and last Baron Overstone and Harriet Wright, on 17 November 1858.¹ He died on 10 June 1901 at age 69, without issue.¹
     He was given the name of Robert James Lindsay at birth.¹ His name was legally changed to Robert James Lindsay-Loyd by Royal Licence.¹ He fought in the Crimean War.² He gained the rank of Captain in the Scots Fusilier Guards.² He was awarded the Victoria Cross (V.C.) on 24 February 1857, for his actions on 20 September and 5 November 1854.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) between 1865 and 1885.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Scots Fusiliers.² He held the office of Finance Secretary, War Office between 1877 and 1880.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1881.¹ He was created 1st Baron Wantage of Lockinge, co. Berkshire [U.K.] on 23 July 1885.¹ He gained the rank of Brigadier-General in the Home Counties Infantry Volunteer Brigade.¹ He was Colonel of the Berkshire Royal Volunteers.¹ He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Berkshire.¹ On his death, his title became extinct.¹
