Fear of hunger and disease. Fear of violence, conflict and exploitation. Fear that robs them of a childhood. Our local staff work in thousands of communities across the world to free children from fear. They know the names and stories of each child they help to support. They live and work alongside them, their families and communities to help change the world they live in for good. Our worldwide presence means we're quick to respond to emergencies like conflict and natural disasters. We also use our influence and global reach to ensure that children are represented at every level of decision-making. Founded more than 65 years ago by American missionary, Bob Pierce, our vision is of a world where every child has the chance to live life to the full. A world where each child is loved, protected and cared for, and enjoys good health and an education. A world where every child is free from fear. We want you to be part of making this vision a reality. Just like our staff all over the world, you’ll get to know the names of the children you help. You can sponsor, donate, pray, campaign or simply share their stories. However you choose to become involved, you will experience what it means to bring real and lasting change to children in the world’s hardest places. Do you have a child protection or adult beneficiary concern or any other concern regarding World Vision's work or staff conduct? World Vision is committed to taking action on every safeguarding report we receive.

As we count down to International Women’s Day ( IWD) 2025, we stand behind this year’s theme: "For All Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment." At World Vision Malawi, we know that #education is one of the most powerful tools to break the cycle of #poverty and uplift entire communities. When a girl gets the chance to learn, she gains the power to shape her future and change the world around her. Let’s break barriers, open doors, and create a #future where every girl has the opportunity to thrive. Because when girls rise, we all rise. #IWD2025 #ForAllWomenAndGirls #4AllWomenAndGirls #Rights #Equality #Empowerment #WorldVision

Sustainable Development Goal Number 6 declares the importance of achieving clean water and sanitation for all. Access to clean water is a basic necessity, yet for many households in rural areas, it remains a dream. World Vision Malawi through its Water Sanitation and Hygiene technical program has invested close to 1 billion kwacha in the construction of WASH facilities like boreholes, mechanized water systems, modern toilets, and incinerators just to mention a few. In Traditional Authority Jalakivuwa in Mzimba, World Vision Malawi constructed a mechanized water system giving 380 beneficiaries access to clean, safe piped water. Apart from the community, the infrastructure also serves schools and health centres. #infrastructurehandover |#InfrastructureDevelopment |#WeAreWorldVision World Vision World Vision Southern Africa World Vision USA World Vision Germany

In a significant step toward addressing gender-based violence (GBV) in the communities we serve, World Vision Malawi has constructed a one-stop center at Nkhoma Mission Hospital in Lilongwe district. The center is designed to provide easy access to critical support services, including counseling, legal assistance, and medical care. The one-stop center houses a Police Unit, Social Welfare Office, Judiciary representatives, and a Clinical Officer, creating a holistic approach to addressing GBV cases. #infrastructurehandover |#Malawi2063 |#WorldVisionMalawi |#WeAreWorldVision World Vision Southern Africa World Vision World Vision USA

World Vision has donated wheelchairs to 16 children with mobility challenges in Machinga district. This is in line with our goal of promoting child well-being in the country. The wheelchairs will ease the children’s mobility, engagement with their peers and access to education easily. "Malawi 2063 human development enabler seeks to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education hence this initiative to bring equal opportunities in education regardless of children's physical disabilities," says Chrissy Mbewe Sitima, World Vision’s District Manager for Machinga district. Through our partnership with Malawi Against Physical Disabilities (MAP), World Vision facilitated the assessment of 71 children in our project areas of Mposa, Chamba and Mbonechera where 16 children were recommended for wheelchairs. The other children were referred to Beit CURE International Hospital, Malawi for further treatment which World Vision has supported. #disabilityawareness |#disabilityinclusion |#disabilitysupport |#disabilityrights World Vision World Vision Southern Africa World Vision USA World Vision UK

School meals are more than just food they’re hope, health, and a chance to learn for millions of children. 📊 Did you know? ✅ Over 65 million children in Africa benefit from school meal programs (African Union, 2024). ✅ Government funding for these programs has grown from 81% in 2020 to 84% in 2022. ❌ But only 27% of children in sub-Saharan Africa receive a school meal. Millions are still missing out. At World Vision, we’re working to change this. Through our #ENOUGH Campaign to end child hunger, we’re making school meals a priority. 📈 Our Impact (Oct-Dec 2024): 🍎 349,275 children in 9 African countries received nutritious school meals. 🌍 16 World Vision offices are focusing on school meals, with 9 already providing meals to kids. School meals help children learn, grow, and build brighter futures. But there’s still so much more to do. 💡 You can help join us in ensuring no child goes hungry as we count down to the Africa Day of School feeding next week. 👉 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/dekpiG7N #SchoolMeals #EndChildHunger #ENOUGHCampaign #WorldVision #Africa #NutritionMatters World Vision East Africa Ange Gusenga-Tembo Pamela Chama Jennifer Watson World Food Programme School Meals For All NC United Nations OCHA UNICEF Sam Norgah

A life of plenty for every child has always been possible, but that’s not reality. Every single day, children are being forced to go without food. More than 733 million people in the world faced hunger in 2023. Shockingly, there is no exact number describing how many of those people suffering from hunger and malnutrition were children. This is just not good ENOUGH. Child hunger is at its worst in generations. Children are bearing the brunt of an unequal food system disrupted by conflicts and climate change. Every child deserves the food they need to develop a healthy body and mind. Every family has the right to be able to put enough of the right food on the table. We must take action immediately.
