The event commenced with a welcoming speech by Nora Mohamed, Senior Vice President of Bioeconomy Corporation, and officiated by YBhg Datuk Ts. Dr. Mohd Nor Azman Bin Hassan, Deputy Secretary-General (Technology Development) at the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI).
We were delighted to showcase two startups, Synbiozymes and ALT Synergy , alongside Adastra IP, an IP firm specializing in global intellectual property rights. We extend our gratitude to Bioeconomy Corporation for this opportunity and look forward to future collaborations.

We’re excited to have had the chance to exhibit under Growth Charger - Startup Accelerator and Incubator’s booth at FundSphere Connect 2024, hosted by Bioeconomy Corporation last Tuesday. It was great to reconnect with familiar faces and build new connections within Malaysia’s bio-based economy ecosystem.
A special highlight was finally meeting Puan Nora Mohamed, Senior VP of Industry Support Division, in person. We also had inspiring conversations with fellow entrepreneurs such as Dr. Siti Sofiah Ramli, who shared her journey in commercializing Ventomin-M as the founder & CEO of Dunita International; Ramdan Parman, the CEO and co-founder of Nature Perfusion; Anuar Hanizan, the COO of Gaia Greentech; and En Zainal from VNI Scientifics, to name a few.
A key takeaway from the program is that there are multiple funding options available for deep tech and bio-based companies, such as financing from AgroBank, P2P financing through MicroLeap, and grants from MOSTI, as well as Cradle Fund’s CIP Spark and CIP Sprint programs. Additionally, for deep tech startups, securing intellectual property protection through IP filing is crucial to safeguarding our technology and ensuring long-term competitiveness. In addition to the previously mentioned funding options, agencies like the Halal Development Corporation (HDC) provide valuable support for deep tech and bio-based companies, as highlighted by Nazmi Afifi Mohammad Nor.
