We marked another milestone in Q3 2024 with a higher core net profit, driven by growing patient volumes and successfully managing more complex cases across all key markets.   “As we continue to execute on our strategic priorities and placing patients at the centre of all we do, we remain confident of our growth trajectory,” shared Dr Prem Kumar Nair, Group CEO, IHH Healthcare.   In our ongoing fight against antimicrobial resistance (AMR), we’ve taken a significant step as the largest private healthcare network to implement Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines across all our hospitals. This system-wide initiative enhances patient safety and addresses superbug infections through responsible antibiotic stewardship.   We’ve also expanded our capacity with nearly 1,000 additional beds—600 from Island Hospital in Penang and 350 at Fortis Hospital, Manesar in India’s National Capital Region—strengthening our ability to deliver high-quality care to more patients.   On 30 Oct 2024, an interim dividend of 4.5 sen per share was distributed, reaffirming our commitment to delivering value to all stakeholders.   A heartfelt thank you to our people and partners for your unwavering dedication. The future of healthcare lies in sustainable innovation. At COP29, our Group CEO, Dr Prem Kumar Nair, addressed one of the industry’s greatest challenges: Scope 3 emissions, which account for 70% of healthcare’s total carbon footprint. Tackling these emissions is a key milestone in our journey toward Net-Zero by 2050. Dr Prem underscored the complexity of reducing indirect emissions across supply chains, emphasising the need for bold action and collaboration. While we’re on track to meet our 2025 targets for Scope 1 and 2 emissions, our focus is now on establishing a Scope 3 baseline by 2027. Key initiatives include reporting on business travel and employee commutes, rolling out a Global Responsible Sourcing Policy, and partnering with suppliers and healthcare providers to collectively drive down emissions. Our Group Head of Sustainability, Yasemin Tecmen Stubbe, also attended COP29, reaffirming our commitment to meaningful sustainability efforts. We’re honoured to stand with our community in the fight against breast cancer. While October is over, our dedication to awareness, early detection, and support continues every day. The recent launch of the Acibadem Healthcare Group Ataşehir Hospital Breast Centre exemplifies our commitment to providing both hope and healing. Under our guiding motto, "We Are Ready for Every Round," the Breast Centre focuses on empowering people with knowledge and preventive care. At the launch event, breast cancer experts and resilient patients shared personal stories and the essential role of routine check-ups. As Breast Centre Manager Prof. Dr. Metin Cakmakci emphasised, early detection dramatically improves outcomes. Annual ultrasounds for women under 40 and mammograms for those over 40 are vital steps in safeguarding health. Stories like that of Gökçe Kemancı, whose mammogram at 46 led to early detection and personalised care, and Ayşe Aras Akpınar, a mother balancing her health journey while providing for her family, remind us of the strength and courage within our community.
