Gleneagles Hospital Kota Kinabalu marked a new milestone with the first robotic surgery in Sabah using the state-of-the-art Da Vinci Xi Robotic Surgical System.   Dr. Suriaraj Karppaya, Consultant Urologist led a team of experts to successfully performed a robotic-assisted radical nephrectomy to remove a patient’s damaged kidney.   The advanced, minimally invasive procedure was carried out using the keyhole technique, allowing for greater precision, smaller incisions, reduced pain, and a faster recovery. Pantai Hospital Ipoh achieved a "First in Ipoh" milestone in cardiac care, with its successful Minimally Invasive Coronary Artery Bypass Graft. Prince Court Medical Centre Sdn Bhd (Official), part of IHH HEALTHCARE MALAYSIA, and the Rotary Club of Kuala Lumpur DiRaja joined forces to bring hope to 9-year-old Adam Hanif. He was born with spina bifida that led to spinal deformities, underdeveloped feet, and leg deformities below the knees—rendering him wheelchair-bound.   Under the care of Dr. Noraishah Mydin Abdul Aziz since birth, Adam was referred to Dr. Rukmanikanthan Shanmugam, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon (Foot & Ankle) Prince Court Medical Centre Sdn Bhd (Official) for foot surgery once he was strong enough, offering him a chance to stand.   Despite the challenges posed by his age and complex contractures, the surgery was a success. Adam can now place his foot flat on the ground and begin mobilising with assistance.
