  • Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, had the honour of hosting the Malaysia International Entrepreneur Federation (MIEF) for an official visit. The delegation was joined by the esteemed Member of Parliament for Tebrau Constituency, YB Tuan Jimmy Puah Wee Tse. The visit aimed to provide MIEF members, many of whom are actively involved in international trade, with an in-depth understanding of Johor Port's operations, infrastructure and advanced technologies. Through a comprehensive corporate presentation and an exclusive guided port tour, the delegation gained valuable insights into the role Johor Port plays in facilitating global trade and driving Johor’s economic growth. The program began with a warm welcome by K C Low, Head of Corporate Affairs Division and Juhaimi Hashim, Head of Container Department, followed by a presentation by Tehvarajan Nadarajan from Key Business Account, Container Terminal, who elaborated on the Port's operational excellence and strategic initiatives. After a networking session over refreshments, the delegation concluded their visit with a port tour, showcasing Johor Port’s facilities and seamless logistics processes. This visit underscored the strong synergy between Johor Port and MIEF, emphasizing the importance of strategic partnerships in boosting Johor’s trade ecosystem.   • Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, had the privilege of hosting the newly appointed Mayor of Majlis Bandaraya Pasir Gudang (MBPG), YB Dato’ Haji Mustaffa Kamal Dato’ Haji Shamsudin, and his delegation during an official visit to Johor Port. The visit aimed to strengthen the longstanding partnership between Johor Port Berhad and MBPG and to introduce the new Mayor to Johor Port’s latest developments and facilitate discussions on planned Port Development activities. The delegation was warmly welcomed at Wisma Kontena by Johor Port’s Chief Executive Officer, Md Derick Basir and Md Zulnorrain Md Yassin, the Head of Freezone & Property department. A meeting was held to exchange insights and explore areas for collaboration, followed by a comprehensive port tour showcasing Johor Port’s facilities and operations. Prior to the tour, the Mayor and his delegation performed the Zuhur prayer at Johor Port’s surau. The visit concluded with a luncheon, providing an excellent platform for further engagement and dialogue on future initiatives.   • Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, celebrated HSE Day 2024, reaffirming its dedication to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) excellence. The event, held at the Port Security & Safety Department’s foyer, drew enthusiastic participation from employees, contractors, Port users and stakeholders, including the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Association of Malaysian Hauliers (AMH).   The ceremony kicked off with a launch by CEO, Md Derick Basir, COO, Edwin Gerard Louis Rosary, and the Head of Security & Safety, Jamaludin Raja Mohamad. They unveiled key initiatives like the e-Waste Campaign, promoting proper electronic waste disposal, and a new range of fluorescent orange Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) with enhanced safety features.   Awards were presented for outstanding contributions, including winners of the Eco Craft Competition, the Best HSE Representatives, and the Best Contractor Award which went to Nur Ajwa Consultant. A "Mighty Fire Fighters" demonstration showcased Johor Port's readiness to handle emergencies.   Event attendees enjoyed a booth tour led by the CEO featuring displays from various organizations, health screenings, and vibrant booths with food, drinks, and plants for sale.   Awareness Talks on important topics such as “Breast Cancer”, “e-waste Management”, “The Dangers of Unregistered Medicines & Unnotified Cosmetics” and “Ergonomic & Back Pain Prevention” were conducted by professionals from KPJ Hospitals, Tess-Amm, Pharmacy Enforcement Department of Johor and Physiomobile.   A lively Zumba session added fun to the day, which concluded with an exciting lucky draw, leaving attendees inspired and committed to HSE values.   Johor Port remains dedicated to setting industry benchmarks in HSE practices. #JohorPortBerhad #JohorPort #HSEDay2024 #HealthSafetyEnvironment #HSE

  • Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, hosted its annual Long Service Award Hi-Tea at the Renaissance Hotel, Johor Bahru, themed “Red Carpet”. This event celebrated the unwavering dedication and commitment of Johor Port’s long-serving employees while also recognizing the academic achievements of employees’ children who excelled in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM). During a heartfelt ceremony, 12 employees were honoured with Long Service Awards in recognition of 20 to 35 years of exemplary service. Additionally, 16 employees received Golden Service Awards in recognition of their outstanding contributions, mirroring the honours given to recipients with 35 years of service. Meanwhile, 19 talented young achievers received the Flying Colours Award, celebrating their outstanding SPM results. The event was further enlivened by a captivating musical performance from the JPB Band, which serenaded attendees with a repertoire of captivating songs, adding a harmonious touch to the celebrations. The Red Carpet-themed event brought together employees and management in a joyful celebration of success, dedication and community spirit.   • On 28 November 2024, MMC Corporation Berhad under its Southern Operating Companies (Opcos) namely Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), Johor Port Berhad (JPB), Malakoff Corporation Berhad (Malakoff) and Senai Airport City Sdn Bhd (SACSB) joined hands to support the TLJCF Charity Dinner 2024. The event, themed “A Night for Fighters”, was organized by the Tunku Laksamana Johor Cancer Foundation and held at the Sunway Big Box Banquet Hall, Sunway City, Iskandar Puteri, Johor.   With a Batik dress code symbolizing unity and cultural pride, the evening celebrated the spirit of solidarity and hope. In line with the Foundation's Mission, the Opcos demonstrated their moral obligation towards disadvantaged communities by taking up a Gold Package sponsorship to raise funds for cancer fighters; aimed at providing financial assistance for cancer treatments.   The event was graced by the presence of DYMM Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong, Raja Zarith Sofiah Binti Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah, who presented the Certificate of Appreciation to the Opcos, represented by Md Derick Basir, the Chief Executive Officer of Johor Port Berhad.   Also in attendance were YAM Che’ Puan Mahkota Khaleeda Johor, YAM Tunku Tun Aminah Binti Sultan Ibrahim, Yang Dihormati Puan Sri Datin Dr. Hajah Noor Azizah Abdul Latiff, Yang Amat Dihormati Datin Sharmin Fazlina Mohd Shukor, along with representatives from both the Government and private sectors.   The evening ended with a captivating performance from Malaysia’s top singer, Dayang Nurfaizah, whose soulful renditions added a special touch to the event.   • The Port Security and Safety Department of Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, organized their annual Ecocraft Competition, a unique initiative designed to promote recycling habits and environmental stewardship. Held for the second consecutive year in conjunction with HSE Day 2024, this competition encouraged participants to collect and creatively reuse recyclable materials to produce and construct innovative structures, aligning with Johor Port’s commitment to sustainability and community engagement.   The competition commenced at 9:45 a.m., with participants working diligently to complete their structures by 2:30 p.m. The presentation and evaluation session took place at 3:00 p.m., where participants showcased their creations to the panel of judges.   Four enthusiastic teams: Da Bomb, Accah Kreatif, Fighter and The Busy Bee, competed for the prestigious prizes of RM1,500 in cash, gift hamper and certificates for the 1st Place winner; RM800 in cash, gift hamper and certificates for 2nd Place; and RM500 in cash, gift hamper, and certificates for 3rd Place.   Participants were tasked to design structures that adhered to the theme “Bulk & Break Bulk Operation Area” by using recycled materials. Each design was limited to a maximum dimension of 1.5m x 1.5m x 1.0m, and the use of pre-prepared or pre-assembled items were strictly prohibited. To further enhance creativity, during the competition day, teams were tasked with incorporating five mystery items into their designs: a box, egg carton, glass bottles, drink cans and mineral water bottles.   The entries were evaluated by a panel of six judges, led by Jamaludin Raja Mohammad, Head of the Port Security & Safety Department. The judges evaluated each of the entries based on creativity, structural integrity and adherence to the assigned theme.   The winners of the Ecocraft Competition will be announced during HSE Day 2024 on 5 December 2024.   • Johor Port made a splash at the Karnival Madani LPJ 2024 from November 8-10! We celebrated the port industry with fun activities for all ages and showcased exciting career opportunities at our booth. Our mini-game made from recycled materials delighted visitors and highlighted our commitment to sustainability. During the Karnival, Johor Port proudly hosted an engaging port tour, allowing visitors to explore the fascinating operations and facilities of the port. The visitors learn about the various services we offer, and witness firsthand of Johor Port role in facilitating trade and transportation services. The event kicked off with a Fun Run & Ride led by YBhg Dato Monaliza, General Manager of Johor Port Authority, along with Johor Port CEO, Mr Md Derick Basir and Tuan Haji Khairul Ariffin Haron of Tanjung Langsat Port. On November 10, our team won a Special Lucky Draw of RM500 in Decathlon gift cards during the Explorace! After the closing ceremony, YB Tuan Ir. Ts. Mohamad Fazli and Johor Port Authority Chairman Tuan Haji Rosnan Fathlal joined the festivities at our booth, trying out the mini-game and adding to the carnival spirit.
