    EXHIBITION: 2-YEAR MADANI GOVERNMENT PROGRAMME AND NATIONAL CONVENTION ON PUBLIC SERVICE REFORM 2024 | 22-24 NOVEMBER 2024 The 2-Year MADANI Government Programme and National Convention on Public Service Reform 2024 is being held over three (3) days, from 22 to 24 November 2024, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). As an agency under the Ministry of Transport (MOT), KTMB has been invited to participate in this prestigious event as an exhibitor. This inaugural programme is organised by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) through the Performance Acceleration and Coordination Unit (PACU), in strategic collaboration with the Malaysian Productivity Corporation (MPC) as the lead secretariat. The event aims to highlight the achievements of the MADANI Government over the past two years in addressing the needs and well-being of the rakyat. Visitors will have the opportunity to engage directly with exhibitors to gain in-depth information and interactive experiences about the services provided by various agencies. During the event, KTMB will also officially launch the KTMB Railway User Guide, officiated by Deputy Director-General (Development), Ahmad Radhi Bin Maarof.     Today, November 21, 2024, marks the 30th ASEAN Transport Ministers (ATM) Summit and the 58th ASEAN Senior Transport Officials Meeting (STOM) at the Grand Ballroom, Pullman KLCC Hotel. The event was officiated by the Deputy Prime Minister, YAB Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof, accompanied by the Minister of Transport Malaysia, YB Anthony Loke, and the Deputy Minister of Transport, Datuk Hj Hasbi Hj Habibollah. They also visited the booths of agencies under the Ministry of Transport (MOT), including the KTMB booth. KTMB's Chief Corporate Officer, En. suhaimi yaacob, delivered a brief presentation on KTMB's train operations, particularly the ASEAN Express service, which reflects KTMB's aspirations as a leading regional rail logistics provider. Embodying the ASEAN spirit, regional cooperation in the transport sector will continue to be strengthened, in line with the theme of this meeting: sustainability, inclusivity, and connectivity. This approach ensures the development of a sustainable, inclusive, and competitive transportation system, thereby enhancing economic and social ties among member countries.

    18-20 November 2024 – Participated in the Q4-2024 Operations and Marketing meeting between KTMB and SRT, held at SRT Hatyai Junction. The program included site visits to the yards in Naprado and Saphli (Chumphon). At Naprado, there are currently no cargo train operations. The yard facilities require restoration, but the available tracks remain operational and ready for use. In Saphli, located in Chumphon district, the yard is fully operational with a functional reach stacker for cargo train handling. Several cargo trains currently utilize this yard for routes to/from Hatyai-Nongkhai, as well as Leam Chabang and Lat Krabang. The main commodities handled include durians, along with some rubber products. KTMB and SRT are prepared to collaborate on extending these services to Malaysia. The meeting and site visits were attended by KTMB’s Head of Cargo Services, Mr. Hezri Haji Ariffin Che Wan , and Mr. Chavalit, Deputy Director of Freight for SRT.     We were honored to host a high-level delegation from Perbadanan Menteri Besar Kelantan (PMBK) led by En. Wan Mohd Husni Bin Wan Osman , Acting CEO of PMBK, who paid a courtesy visit at KTMB HQ on 4 Nov 2024 together with two (2) of its subsidiaries from Kelantan Utilities Mubaarakan Holdings (KUM) and Kelantan Gold Trade (KGT), expressing keen interest in exploring potential strategic collaborations with KTMB. A meeting discussion was led and chaired by En suhaimi yaacob KTMB CCO together with En Abdul Salim Shah , Head Corp Planning and Pn Shida Taslim Head of StratComms. Following a working-level visit to our Eastern Region office in Kuala Krai with En Basri Abu Bakar on November 3rd, the discussions at KTMB HQ were focused on leveraging our combined strengths to enhance strategic initiatives in Kelantan.   KTMB remains committed to improving connectivity services in Kelantan. Our existing rail network, which includes the Gua Musang - Tumpat route, serves over a million passengers annually. We are also actively working on various projects, such as station upgrades and the potential reactivation of the Rantau Panjang – Pasir Mas – Rantau Panjang line in the future, to further enhance the region's transportation infrastructure.   We discussed a wide range of opportunities, including: Advertising Opportunities and Digital Initiatives: Expanding the use of digital standees at our Kelantan stations to provide real-time information, engage passengers, and create new revenue streams through digital out-of-home advertising. Including potential collaboration on advertising campaigns to market and enhance PMBK's and/or its subsidiaries’ initiatives and projects in the state. Gold and Silver Investments: Exploring a strategic partnership with Kelantan Gold Trade to offer unique investment opportunities to our passengers, expanding further product offerings to our passengers. such as gold and silver savings plans that can be redeemed through our rail rewards program.   We believe that a potential partnership with PMBK will unlock new opportunities for both organizations and could bring significant benefits to both organizations, including increased quality of services, enhanced passenger experience, and the promotion of sustainable development.     EXHIBITION IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE 30TH ASEAN TRANSPORT MINISTERS MEETING (ATM) AND 58TH SENIOR TRANSPORT OFFICIALS MEETING (STOM) The Exhibition in Conjunction with the 30th ASEAN Transport Ministers Meeting (ATM) and the 58th Senior Transport Officials Meeting (STOM) is being held over five (5) days, starting today, Monday, 18 November 2024, and concluding on 22 November 2024. The event takes place at the Grand Ballroom foyer, Level 3, Pullman KLCC Hotel. This year, Malaysia is honored to host and chair both STOM and ATM, which bring together over 250 delegates from ASEAN member states, ASEAN Dialogue Partners (People’s Republic of China, Japan, Republic of Korea, and the United States), ASEAN Development Partners (World Bank, UNESCAP, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Asian Development Bank, International Transport Forum), and the ASEAN Secretariat. The exhibition, themed “Sustainability, Inclusivity, and Connectivity,”features participation from transport-related agencies and companies across all sectors. These include KTMB, MIROS, Railway Assets Corporation, MRT Corp., Malaysia Rail Link Sdn. Bhd., Malaysia Rail Development Corp., Port Klang Authority, Johor Port Authority, Bintulu Port Authority, Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia, and Batik Air. This exhibition provides a strategic platform for agencies and companies to actively engage with ASEAN Transport Ministers and Senior Officials, as well as ASEAN Dialogue Partners. It aims to foster meaningful relationships that can drive the expansion of services and activities across ASEAN member states and ASEAN Dialogue Partner nations.

    WORLD TOWN PLANNING DAY 2024 CELEBRATION IN BANDAR RENGGAM On Sunday, 17 November 2024, the World Town Planning Day 2024 was celebrated with great enthusiasm across Bandar Renggam. This year's celebration was an initiative by the Johor State Department of Town and Country Planning (PLANMalaysia Johor), in collaboration with the Simpang Renggam District Council (MDSR), Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB), and Teo Seng Capital Berhad. The event was officiated by the Johor Chief Minister, YB Dato’ Onn Hafiz bin Ghazi, and witnessed by representatives from KTMB, including En. Rahman Din, Project Director for Gemas – Johor Bahru, along with YB Dato’ Hj. Jafni bin Md Shukor, Chairman of the Planning, Housing, and Local Government Committee, and YBhg Datuk TPr Dr. Alias bin Rameli, Director-General of PLANMalaysia, alongside other distinguished guests. A variety of interactive activities were organized, including drawing, coloring, mural painting, and placemaking competitions. The highlight of the celebration was the **Renggam Push Bike Fun Race**, which attracted 300 participants. Riders transported their bicycles aboard a specially chartered train service provided by KTMB, traveling from Renggam Station to Kulai Station. This collaboration not only enhanced the visibility of KTMB’s charter train services in the southern region but also highlighted its existing services, such as the Southern Express. It further positioned rail travel as an attractive option for domestic tourism, aligning with the **Railway to See Malaysia** campaign. With continued commitment and partnership, it is hoped that Bandar Renggam and KTMB Renggam Station will thrive as a sustainable and inclusive hub for all.

    Working Visit by KSU to Padang Besar Terminal and Perlis Inland Port (PIP) On Sunday, 10 November 2024, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Transport (KSU MOT), Dato’ Jana Santhiran Muniayan, along with his delegation, conducted a working visit to the Padang Besar Terminal and Perlis Inland Port (PIP). This visit aimed to assess the cargo operations status at Multimodal Freight (MMF) and to observe the development of the bonded route linking Padang Besar to PIP. Also present were the Chief Executive Officer of Railway Asset Corporation (RAC), YBhg. Dato' Azhar bin Ahmad; Director of Project Delivery at NCIA, Tuan Haji Muhammad Fazlullah bin Abdul Aziz; Chairman & Managing Director of SMH Rail Sdn Bhd, Datuk PK Nara; Member of the Board of Directors of Penang Port Commission, Dato’ Chan Kong Yew; Managing Director of Multimodal Freight Sdn Bhd (MMF), Mr. Ahmad Shazli; and representatives from KTMB, including Abdul Salim Shah Abdul Aziz, Head of Corporate Planning Services, and Hezri Ariffin, Head of KTM Cargo Services. Ahmad Shazli, Managing Director of MMF, provided a comprehensive briefing to the KSU on cargo operations at MMF. The agenda continued with a site visit and briefing on the bonded road route, which plays a crucial role in expediting cargo flow between Padang Besar and PIP. This visit is hoped to reflect KTMB’s commitment to strengthening northern trade relations and supporting national logistics growth.
