People need to work, and sometimes work can be overwhelming. Long working hours, endless tasks that require us to be multitasking, and attending meetings with different people can all contribute to a stressful workday. When the work keeps piling up, it’s easy to start feeling burnt out, and at that point, you might find it hard to pull yourself up by your bootstraps. We talk about self-care, but that often requires more time and energy. We promote mindfulness, yet many of us are unsure about how to start doing it. So, what are some first steps to start taking care of your mental health? Here are some simple tips you can try in your daily life or at work: 1. Stop your autopilot mode – Pause, slow down, reprioritise your to-do-list. 2. Take a deep breath - Breathe in , hold your breath, and breathe out. 3. Practice grounding techniques - to help you stay focused (e.g., notice the temperature of your surrounding or feel the ground beneath your feet). 4. Engage in the moment - Tackle one thing at a time. In conjunction with World Mental Health Day, thank you Hilti Asia IT Services for inviting us to conduct a half-day workshop on mental wellness in the workplace, which aligns with this year’s mental health theme that emphasizes the importance of addressing mental health and well-being in the workplace. During the session, we discussed about common mental health concerns, such as depression, anxiety and burnout. We also explored ways to “happify” our workplace through group activities. A big thank you to all the participants again for the engagement, and we look forward to future collaboration! ------------------------------------------------------- If you're looking for a team of clinical psychologist and are keen on empowering your employees with better mental wellness, feel free to reach out to us on WhatsApp at https://lnkd.in/gT6WxSuu or visit our website at https://lnkd.in/gC7-awGw to discover the benefits of our Employee Assistance Program (EAP). #burnout #wellnessinitiative #worldmentalhealthday #workplace #mentalhealth #employeeassistanceprogram

"What if I'm not good enough?" "If only I could make better decisions..." "Why am I not like the rest?" Have you ever found yourself overwhelmed by thoughts like these on a sleepless night? Tossing and turning on bed, feeling helpless and unsure of what to do. Over time, it becomes easy to believe, "I'm never going to be able to stop worrying." How to stop the cycle. Here are some ways to regain control over those racing thoughts: 1. Catch the "What If" Thoughts: When you notice yourself asking "what if," shift your focus to what is within your control. Start small and take simple actions to create a different outcome. 2. Reframe the "Why": Instead of questioning "Why?", try reframing the thought to "What?". For example, instead of asking "Why isn’t she talking to me?" ask "What can I do to start a conversation?" 3. Stay present and aware of the "If Only" thoughts : Focusing on "if only" thoughts keeps you stuck in the past, draining your energy. Instead, bring your attention to the present, and focusing on the things that matter and start creating small change where it’s possible. A big thank you to Padini Holdings Berhad for the reconnecting with us and inviting us to discuss how to manage negative thoughts. Glad to have continuous collaboration like this to raise awareness on the importance of prioritising mental health and coping with the everyday stresses we all face. #wellnessinitiative #negativethoughts #workplace #mentalhealth #employeeassistanceprogram #staypresent

It is a wrap with Yayasan Khazanah! Once again, our pleasure to be invited to deliver a wellness talk for scholars during their pre-departure session. As scholars embark on new chapters in their academic journeys, they often face significant transitions and challenges, from adjusting to new cultures to managing academic pressures. During our recent mental wellness talk, we emphasized that stress isn’t inherently harmful—it’s a natural response to change. By understanding the relationship between stress, personal values, and academic goals, scholars can turn challenges into opportunities for growth. We introduced the STRESS model, a self-care toolkit designed to build resilience through emotional awareness, thought-challenging techniques, and relaxation exercises. We also discussed the importance of seeking professional support. Remember, reaching out for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Even heroes know the value of support. We believe that investing in mental wellness not only fosters a healthier educational environment but also improves healthier adjustment, better mental wellness, and brighter futures for all scholars. --------------------------------- If you're looking for a team of clinical psychologist and are keen on empowering your employees with better mental wellness, feel free to reach out to us on WhatsApp at https://lnkd.in/gT6WxSuu or visit our website at https://lnkd.in/gC7-awGw to discover the benefits of our Employee Assistance Program (EAP). #StressManagement #ResilienceBuilding #MentalWellness #MentalHealth #ProfessionalDevelopment #hrdf #yayasankhazanah

✨ Ever feel like no matter how hard you try, you just don't fit in with your current job role? We often blame ourselves, thinking we haven't try hard enough or that we're just not good enough. But is that really the case? Sometimes, it's not about effort but about whether our professional choices match our interests and work demands. Are we choosing job roles that truly align with our characters and strengths?🤔 Here are three key steps to explore the right fit: 1. Identify Your Interests: What are you passionate about? Aligning your career with your interests can lead to greater fulfillment and success. 2. Know What Motivates You: Does your company’s values align with yours? Understanding what drives you, can help you find a workplace that truly resonates with you. 3. Identify Your Strengths: Are you using your strengths in the right place? Leveraging your natural abilities in a role that values them can make all the difference. Remember, finding the right fit isn't about working harder—it's about making the choices that suit you best. Take the time to understand your strengths and needs to ensure you thrive in your professional role. 🌟 P.S. As a psychologist and speaker, I'm grateful to have found a career that aligns with my passion. I hope you find the job that brings you the same joy and fulfilment, and if you haven't yet, keep exploring - it could be just around the corner! 💪 #SelfExploration #JobSatisfaction #Strengths #Motivation #CareerGrowth #JobDemands #RightFit --------------------------------- If you're looking for a team of clinical psychologist and are keen on empowering your employees with better mental wellness, feel free to reach out to us on WhatsApp at https://lnkd.in/gT6WxSuu or visit our website at https://lnkd.in/gC7-awGw to discover the benefits of our Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

"I have been a listener to my friends until my ears are so tired..." It is quite interesting to see someone of us tend to become the "counselor / listener" among our colleagues in workplace. It could be due to our interaction styles, values and personality. One of the ways to understand our stressors is to understand our personality, which is our consistent pattern of thinking, feeling and behaviour. Once we know the pattern, we know where our priorities and stressors are. Our pleasure to deliver a fun and entertaining talk about True Colour Personality workshop with the participants from|Etika Group of Companies. The talk was well received by their positive participations and questions, we are grateful to see their passions towards understanding self and others via personality, willing to learn how to work with different personalities, becoming a better self in workplace. Thank you to Vealth.me for hosting the talk too! ------------ If you're interested in HRD Corp claimable trainings for your employees, visit our website at https://lnkd.in/gC7-awGw to discover the benefits of our Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The poll result from our previous post is out! 📊 The results showed over 64% of our readers expressed a strong preference for their Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to prioritise promoting a supportive workplace environment, rating it as more important than solely focusing on building their own self-resilience.This may indicate a shift in some employee expectations, where they are no longer just seeking strategies to build personal resilience for navigating challenges and work stress. Instead, they are looking for a workplace environment that fosters a sense of belonging and feel being valued in the team. Here’s the 3 reasons why we need to explore beyond building employees’ self-resilience when implementing EAP service in the workplace? 1. Every employee has their individual challenges. Every employee brings a unique set of challenges and experiences to the workplace. While self-resilience is valuable, it's essential to acknowledge that factors like early life experiences and external stressors can significantly impact one's ability to cope. By prioritising a supportive workplace environment, we create space for understanding and accommodating these individual challenges and allow them to have the emotional safety to cope with the constant changes at the workplace. 2. Looking into team resilience instead. It’s not just about self-resilience because most of the tasks require teamwork. It is important to look beyond personal resilience and acknowledge the role of the work environment, peer support, training and organisational culture factors in dealing with stress and building better performance at work. Open communication, trust, and mutual support among team members contribute to a harmonious work environment where collaboration thrives, conflicts are resolved constructively, and everyone in the team feels motivated and appreciated. 3. Aware and reduce employees’ burnout level. By providing accessible resources, guidance, and counselling support, employees can learn to manage their burnout, actively get help and learn to support each other. When individuals experience lower levels of burnout, they are more likely to have the energy, motivation, and capacity to engage positively with their colleagues, fostering a culture of collaboration and mutual support. By exploring beyond employee’s self resilience, organisations not only invest in the well-being of their employees but also cultivate a resilient and engaging workforce for them. ---------------------------- If you're looking for a team of clinical psychologist and are keen on empowering your employees with better mental wellness, feel free to reach out to us or visit our website at https://lnkd.in/gC7-awGw to discover the benefits of our Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
