Work has changed significantly in recent years, from the sudden shift to remote work in 2020 to evolving strategies like returning to the office or downsizing space. These rapid changes can affect employees' mental health, creating uncertainty, stress, and burnout if not managed with support and care. Our team at Thrive Well were honoured to be invited by Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) to be a part of the FMM Business Best Practices Webinar on the 5th December to share on 𝙁𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙀𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙤𝙮𝙚𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙈𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙒𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜. From the poll in the session, the biggest barrier faced when it comes to seeking mental health support was the 𝘧𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘣𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘫𝘶𝘥𝘨𝘦𝘥, followed closely by 𝘭𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘳 𝘯𝘰 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘤𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘧𝘪𝘵𝘴. Thrive Well's Managing Director and Clinical Psychologist Ms. Ellisha Othman and Clinical Director and Counselling Psychologist Ms. Ivy Tan shared about mental health, sources of stress, some signs to look out for when someone in the workplace may need to seek support, as well as how Employee Assistance Program (EAP) can help organisations to boost productivity, enhance job satisfaction and create long-term success. Organisational culture matters even more in the fast-paced, multigenerational workplace of today. It is vital for organisations to develop strategies to create a resilient and inclusive workplace. Thank you Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) for the opportunity to share on this important topic. We look forward to supporting organisations to achieve their goals through effective and sustainable strategies to foster resilience and employee wellbeing.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, women have been struggling even more to cope with multiple responsibilities such as managing household matters and caring for the family, with some even venturing into side businesses to further support the family financially. As such, the K.A.M.I. Sembang programme by Thrive Well provides women with basic psychosocial support in processing their experiences and equips them with the necessary skills to face challenges. Since becoming a WEPs signatory in 2022, Thrive Well has taken on an active role in being mindful of the specific needs of women; women participating in community programmes as well as our employees. Through our experience, we have an increased sense of understanding that adaptation is necessary to create a supportive environment for all to thrive. Explore the core of resilience in this case study: "Families on the Edge: Mental Health Support for Women to Create Better Communities" - developed in partnership with UNICEF and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
