Wasco Pipe Sabah (WPS), the pipe manufacturing arm of Wasco, is considering expanding its “Turning Recyclables Into Treasure” programme into a semi-annual event. Though modest in scale, the initiative underscores Wasco’s dedication to contributing towards its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals. The programme held recently, focuses on repurposing everyday waste materials such as plastic bottles, paper, and cardboard, which are processed into threads and textiles to produce items like clothing and blankets. The strong participation from employees has encouraged WPS to explore running the initiative more frequently, reflecting Wasco Group’s broader emphasis on embedding circular economy principles and its commitment to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2026. In collaboration with the local environmental organisation, Tzu-Chi Kolombong, these waste materials are transformed into textiles, adding to Wasco’s cumulative collection of 670 kg of recyclables to date. This initiative is part of the Wasco Group’s larger strategy to reduce waste and promote sustainability across its operations. As part of its ESG commitment, Wasco aims to continually expand its sustainability efforts, reflecting a long-term strategy to minimise waste and optimise resource use across all facets of its business. #TeamWasco #SustainabilityTomorrowToday’sCommitment #CircularEconomy

Wasco Coatings Middle East (“WCME”) has launched a new paper recycling programme, building on Wasco Group’s ongoing sustainability efforts and adding a fresh green habit to the workplace. Inspired by recent regional moves away from single-use plastics, this programme is a simple yet impactful step towards reducing waste and supporting a circular economy. It’s all about making it easy: special bins are set up around the office to collect used paper, which is then picked up by Elite Paper Recycling, where it’s sorted, cleaned, and repurposed into new products like office supplies and packaging. Through this three-stage process, WCME is helping protect forests, cut down on energy use, and keep paper out of landfills—reducing greenhouse gases along the way. Why does it matter? This small change adds up, making a big impact for both the environment and the community. #SustainabilityTomorrowTodaysCommitment #TeamWasco #ImpactForChange
