Better Societies Through Better Education

Perihal kami

YTL Foundation was established in 1997 to provide scholarships to deserving university students. Along the way, we saw the need to make quality education available for all. So we broadened our reach to include a wider range of programmes that would assist individuals along their education and leadership journey. Over the years, we have grown from strength to strength, thanks to the many partners who have joined hands with us to turn vision to reality. Our endeavours to equip future generations continue today – from education opportunities, to thought leadership, to opening doors and connecting people. To ensure verifiable and meaningful results, we channel our resources and skills into a carefully curated selection of programmes. We invite you to find out more and discover the opportunities in partnering with us.

  • It is truly heartwarming to witness the powerful impact of our KelasKita programme through the inspiring words of our dedicated volunteer teacher, Tasha. Her experience exemplifies the spirit of giving and the transformative power of education. 📚 🧠 ❤️ KelasKita is more than just a programme; it's a platform that empowers individuals to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners. By providing opportunities for volunteers like Tasha to share their knowledge and passion, we aim to bridge educational gaps and foster a brighter future for our nation's youth. We are deeply grateful to our volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to make a positive impact. 🙋♀️ 🙋♂️ 🙋 Your commitment to education is invaluable, and your efforts inspire us all. Growing up, I always thought being a teacher would be one of the coolest jobs, and through KelasKita program, I finally got the chance to experience what it’s like to be a tutor, teaching weekly online classes for an orphanage center. It’s not the same as being a teacher in a typical classroom, it's a whole different experience. Our sessions were every Monday at 8:30 PM, and for weeks, these kids became my reason to look forward to the start of a new week. Yesterday was my final class with them, and let me tell you, I wasn't ready for how emotional it would be 😭 In the last few minutes of class, my students turned on their cameras (which, if you’ve taught online, you know is a rare miracle! Lol 🤣) and made little heart signs with their hands for me 🫶 They each took turns saying, 'Terima kasih, Cikgu Tasha.' My heart completely melted. I was so touched and a little sad that our time together had come to an end ☹️ For me, KelasKita program by YTL Foundation x YTL Construction, is such an incredible initiative. It’s more than just a program, it’s a lifeline for kids who need it most, bridging educational gaps and giving them the support they deserve. I believe every child deserves access to quality education, no matter their circumstances, and programs like this one make that possible.  Being part of KelasKita reminded me how much of an impact even small efforts can make. Watching these kids learn and laugh was such a fulfilling experience, and I’ll carry these memories with me forever. To anyone considering volunteering or contributing to programs like this, do it. You’ll give a lot, but you’ll receive even more ❤️

  • A Brighter Future, One Step at a Time 🌱 Our YTL Sustainability team, led by our YTL Foundation Scholar Alumni Mohamad Haziq Bin Nor Hisham, recently conducted a "Waste Management" class at 54C, YTL Learning Space. The class was a huge success, with 30 refugee children ages 12-20 years old from Kachin Refugee Learning Centre (KRLC) and Malaysia Karen Organization Learning Centre (MKOLC) eager to learn about the importance of reducing waste. Did you know that the world produces a staggering 2.01 billion tonnes of waste annually? And this number is projected to skyrocket to 3.8 billion tonnes by 2050 if we don't take action. By educating our young minds about waste management, we're empowering them to make informed choices and contribute to a more sustainable future. Together, we can reduce waste and protect our planet! 🌎 #BuildingTheRightThing #BetterSocietiesThroughBetterEducation #LeapsAcademy #YTLSustainability  #youthempowerment  #wastemanagement
