I was truly honoured and humbled to be asked to speak at the recently held #GenConnect: Building Better Together forum to share my perspectives on strategies and best practices to create a Collaborative Culture. This forum was arranged as part of the YTL Corporation Bhd Group’s 70th anniversary celebration, in conjunction with British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (BMCC). I was proud to share some of the things we do in the Hilti Group that has given us the basis for a successful journey as a company focused on our ever evolving strategy, underpinned with a strong Corporate Culture and leadership principles that we live every day. There is so much in common with what YTL Construction is doing. I hope that I was able to give the audience some food for thought and simple concepts that they can use immediately. And I loved learning from the other panel discussions A special thank you to the team at YTL and in particular Natasha Zulkifli and Nina Jamil for the invite Kathleen Chew Tsen Yeoh Rozania Mohd Khir Tiffany Wen #ytl #hilti #makeconstructionbetter #lifeathilti

The intersection of digital transformation and sustainability has never been more critical, and with the rapid advancement of AI, this convergence is set to reshape the landscape at an unprecedented pace. I had the privilege of moderating a panel discussion on one of my favorite topics: ‘Driving ESG through sustainable digital transformation’ at the British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (BMCC)’s inaugural ESG Horizons Conference. It was an honor to share the stage with esteemed panelists, Vinod Narayanan, Country President, AstraZeneca Malaysia, Chris Farrelly , CEO, HANDD Business Solutions, Tsen Yeoh, Director, YTL Construction and Redza I., Director, Redtone Digital. Our discussion spanned diverse topics, including how digital enablement is driving ESG practices in healthcare, construction, identity management, and smart farming. The real-world examples shared by the panelists were particularly inspiring, showcasing how innovation is being applied to achieve tangible sustainability outcomes through digital enablement. We also delved into the challenges of ensuring sustained digital transformation for ESG goals—covering critical areas such as long-term ROI, addressing skill gaps, data access and availability as well as touching on the need to drive responsible AI adoption from the early age. A big thank you to BMCC for organising such an engaging and meaningful event, and to all the panel members for their valuable insights and contributions. #DigitalTransformation #Sustainability #ESG #AI #SustainableInnovation #DigitalEnablement #BMCC #TechnologyAndSustainability #digitalisaboutpeople

Panellists Murali Ram (Arup), Sarazif Ramli (bp), and Dr. Jit Ern Chen (Sunway University) touched on topics such as decarbonisation, smart cities, water security, and the transition from oil to renewable energy. The second panel, moderated by Sundara Raj Ramamurthy (PwC, PwC Malaysia), focused on sustainable digital transformation. In this session, our speakers, Vinod Narayanan (AstraZeneca), Chris Farrelly (HANDD Business Solutions, HANDD Business Solutions Asia), Pei Tsen Yeoh (YTL Construction) and Redza I. (REDtone Digital Services ) delved into actionable sustainability strategies in healthcare, data security, construction, and telecommunication. The Conference also marked the launch of the Partnership for Health System Sustainability and Resilience (PHSSR) Report, a white paper on Malaysia's health systems. The report offers actionable policy recommendations for social support, workforce development and holistic care delivery. Led by Angsana Health with partners Ministry Of Health, Malaysia (KKM), AstraZeneca, KPMG Malaysia, and Philips, this initiative reflects a shared commitment to advancing knowledge and driving evidence-based policy reforms for a more resilient and sustainable healthcare future. We thank our speakers, moderators, and panellists for their invaluable insights as well as Nexus International School Malaysia and Milestone Production Sdn Bhd for hosting booths to showcase their commitment to ESG. A big thank you to all attendees for participating—we hope you take the lessons learned today back to your organisations and continue driving ESG principles forward. At BMCC, we and our CEO, Jennifer Lopez, are grateful for this opportunity to highlight the importance of meaningful sustainability and look forward to furthering ESG within our network for a better tomorrow.
