The Black Girl’s Dream Initiative is a youth led not-for-profit organisation. We are focused on promoting Quality Education #SDG4 and bridging the gender gap through Advocacy, Arts, Research,Technology and Sports #SDG5. We employ the new media as a tool to achieving our organisational goals while engaging change makers to achieve our mission. The Black Girl’s dream initiative is focused on changing the narrative of the young African female and making her into an indispensable part of the larger society Our mission is to smash the patriarchy by empowering women and girls to be leaders and decision makers and reorienting boys and men, so as to create a society that is not only our shared space but also feels like it. Our vision is to be a foremost organisation for the development of teenage girls and boys that would help drive the much needed global revolution.

  • School-Related Gender-Based Violence (SRGBV) is a harsh reality that threatens the safety, growth, and future of countless students, especially girls. Education should be a haven for learning and empowerment, not fear and silence. Still upholding the spirit of the 16 Days of Activism against GBV, our commitment at BGDI to addressing this pressing issue remains stronger. We work closely with schools, engaging with students to raise awareness, spark conversations, and empower girls to stand against all forms of abuse. These discussions are crucial for creating safer environments and enlightening the next generation about their rights.
