Motorcycle delivery services are the backbone of last-mile logistics in both Ghana and Nigeria. However, they also contribute to urban pollution. At Gigmile , we are committed to exploring sustainable alternatives. Could electric motorcycles be the game-changer? This study dives into the potential of e-motorcycles to significantly reduce CO2 emissions in the last-mile delivery sector. We’re comparing various operational models, including electric vs. traditional ICE motorbikes, battery swapping vs. home charging, and the overall impact on the livelihoods of gig workers, such as potential cost savings. By introducing e-motorbikes to our community in Lagos and Accra, Gigmile is leading the charge toward a greener future for the gig economy in West Africa. We are grateful to Siemens Stiftung for their support in making this possible. Stay tuned for more updates as we push for a cleaner and more sustainable transportation solution! #Sustainability #EMobility #LastMileDelivery #GigEconomy #Gigmile #Africa

    Co-Founder & CEO @ Gigmile - Mobility FinTech for the underserved | Financial Inclusion | Gig Economy - #profitwithpurpose

The entrepreneurial journey is often filled with challenges, ups, and downs at every turn. But what has kept us moving forward is the deep-rooted "why" behind what we do—the purpose that drives us to push through obstacles, innovate, and create meaningful impact. Whilst we are a for-profit business, the impact we create is astounding many times evident from day 1. We cannot eradicate poverty in Africa but we can increase prosperity on the continent. One of our drivers recently shared his heartfelt journey with us, expressing how his life took a positive turn after joining Gigmile . These moments remind us why we do what we do — providing income-generating assets and a means to transform lives. Hearing stories like this truly motivates us to keep growing and empowering more people across Africa's gig economy. To everyone involved in our mission: Thank you. And to our drivers and riders, like the one who shared this message, we are so proud to have you as part of the Gigmile family. 🙏 Stay blessed and keep shining! 🌟 #Gigmile #Empowerment #ChangingLives #GigEconomy #ThankYou #ImpactfulWork #Community #Gratitude

Exciting news! We’ve revved up our engines again! This time, we launched in Ibadan! In partnership with TVS Motor Company , we’re making ownership of a NEO NX bike more accessible than ever. Through our flexible financing options, we're empowering people with convenient commuting and a holistic mobility experience. This expansion builds upon our established presence in both Nigeria and Ghana, where we've already empowered several gig workers with a diverse fleet of over 5 vehicles. Although our successful launch in Ibadan marks a significant step in our journey, this is still the beginning. Stay tuned for more diverse transportation and mobility solutions across Africa. #assetfinancing #financialinclusion #gigeconomy #transportation #mobilitysolution #gigmile #neonx

    Co-Founder & CEO @ Gigmile - Mobility FinTech for the underserved | Financial Inclusion | Gig Economy - #profitwithpurpose

I had the pleasure of joining a panel session at Lagos Startup Week to discuss emerging trends shaping the mobility landscape. During the discussion, I shared my insights on the servitization of the industry, particularly with vehicle ownership. The mobility sector is experiencing a significant transformation driven by the concept of servitization. This shift from product-based offerings to service-oriented solutions is changing how Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), customers, and leasing and financing companies like ours approach vehicle usage. In developed markets, there has been a notable increase in vehicle subscription services. Companies like Volvo, BMW, and Audi offer flexible subscription plans that allow customers to switch vehicles based on their needs. This model appeals to consumers seeking convenience and variety without long-term commitments. Vehicle ownership is increasingly viewed as a subscription service rather than a product, with vehicle maintenance, roadside assistance insurance, and other perks bundled into fixed monthly payments for leasing or renting vehicles. In Africa and other emerging markets, affordability will drive the mainstream adoption of servitization. Vehicle ownership per capita varies significantly between developed and emerging markets, with the US at 83%, the UK at 60%, Brazil at 40%, India at 30%, and Nigeria at 13%. These differences reflect varying levels of economic development, urbanization, and transportation infrastructure. Given the limited access to credit for a large portion of the population in emerging regions, vehicle subscription models, including lease-to-own schemes, are seeing increased uptake. These models offer a viable solution to make vehicle ownership more accessible and affordable, helping to bridge the gap in mobility infrastructure. It is still day one for us at Gigmile but I am personally excited about opportunities and the future of mobility! 🚗✨ #Gigmile #GammaMobility #LeasetoOwn #VehicleSubscription #MAAS

I am super happy to see our work expand into the four-wheeler space! Even more exciting is the story of Patrick Asiedu and Hassan Amidu, who began their journey with us a little over 18 months ago by subscribing to our lease-to-own motorcycle offering. They both completed their payments, took full ownership of their motorcycles, and have now moved on to cars. This is the impact we strive for, starting small and supporting our customers as they grow towards financial independence. While we are a for-profit business, our profound impact on the lives of those we support motivates me to give my best every day to build Gigmile with Samuel Esiri and our wonderful team. We thank our backers and supporters who understand and champion our mission. Keep following us on this awesome journey! #Financeforthemobilitysector #Gigmile #Gammamobility

We are thrilled to announce the exciting launch of our car fleet in Ghana! This expansion marks a significant step forward in our mission to better serve our communities and enhance transportation options across the country. In partnership with the incredible team at Yango, we are committed to ensuring that our drivers have access to top-notch vehicles that are perfectly suited for our innovative lease-to-own model. This model empowers drivers by providing them with the opportunity to achieve financial independence while simultaneously enabling them to provide for their families. The first batch of cars has already hit the streets, and we are seeing the immediate positive impact on both our drivers and the community. These vehicles are not just a means of transportation; they represent a gateway to new opportunities and a brighter future for many. This is still just day one, and we are incredibly excited about what lies ahead. There is much more to come as we continue to grow and enhance our services.
