This is how we’re ending the year. 💙 2024 was not an easy year, especially for business owners in Nigeria. That’s why to round off the year, Wii invited five incredible business owners to our office to share their wins, lessons learnt, and the moments that kept them going in 2024. Little did they know that Wii had a surprise for them. 💙 Thank you Ijeoma Amagwula of Ijeworks for partnering with us on this (and for being surprised too😁). How do you get people talking about your event weeks before it actually happens? 🤔 Here’s how She Code Africa does it ⬇️ In September 2023, She Code Africa successfully gathered 1000 women and girls across Africa for the She Code Africa Summit. Weeks before the summit, She Code Africa generated organic buzz and got people talking about the summit, online and offline. If you’re looking to get the same attention before your event, here are two lessons you can learn from She Code Africa: 📌BUILD ANTICIPATION: Take an extra step like She Code Africa did to tell people EXACTLY what they are going to get at the event. This involves sharing the activity line-up at the event, perks for attendees (like free transportation, CV reviews), and even the cool merch that’ll they receive at the event! She Code Africa did this by releasing pre-event videos of the custom merch attendees would get. 📌CREATE PRE-EVENT EXPERIENCES: Give people a taste of the event before it happens. She Code Africa does this by organising pre-summit workshops and webinars weeks before the main event. You can also do this with pre-event mixers, social media giveaways, and even newsletter build-ups to the event. . . . Want to give your attendees an exciting experience at your next event? Start with merch. Visit bit.ly/WiiMerchKits to discover custom gifts your attendees and speakers will love. 💙 #events #techsummit #shecodeafricasummit

Around this time last year, we participated in the Telamia pitch competition, which was our first pitch competition. It was an incredibly educational experience where I learned how to pitch, draft a pitch deck, and so much more. We came in third, and I was really happy about that, but what stood out even more was the full merch we received from WiiCreate I wore it to a lot of competitions, and a few days ago, I was looking at one of the items and realized they still look brand new—yes, they’re that durable even after a year! As I looked at the merch, I realized I never really said thank you. So, thank you to Victor Onyekere for organizing the competition, Cynthia E. Chisom for your valuable advice, and Shonibare Oreoluwa Samuel for all the amazing merch (and yes, I still read the postcard you sent—picture in the second frame). Every founder needs a word of encouragement sometimes, and your support has meant a lot. #Gratitude #Entrepreneurship #PitchCompetitions #Telamia #Wiicreate #ThankYou
