Across cultures throughout history, food has always been key to creating connections. There's something about the act of sharing food that breaks down barriers and brings people together. In a coworking space like ours, where diverse individuals come together to work and grow, potlucks are more than just having lunch, it's about sharing and connecting 🍽 Sharing food builds trust and camaraderie Studies show that dining together strengthens social bonds, encourages open dialogue, and makes people feel more at ease, which can lead to better collaboration and understanding 🌎 Meals are a window into culture Food is a universal language that tells a story. By sharing dishes from different parts of the world, we celebrate diversity and create a space for mutual learning and appreciation, gaining insight into each other’s backgrounds, values, and traditions. 🤝 Communities thrive on shared experiences Research consistently shows that community-focused events boost well-being and productivity. Casual settings like potlucks encourage meaningful interactions and relationships that extend beyond work. At 42workspace, we’ve embraced these ideas with our monthly "Food Around the World" potlucks. This month’s highlight? Persian flavors that delighted us all. Special thanks to our member, Pouria Najafi, who went above and beyond. He brought an incredible variety of dishes for everyone and was so proud to share his culture. He even guided us and taught us along the way, thank you, Pouria, for making this potluck so special! And a shoutout to another member, Umoh Bassey-Duke, who shared his opinion with Maksut Gavaz. He truly embodies the spirit, he’s been to every single potluck, from Portuguese to Indian to Mexican, and while the Persian theme was a hit, he’s already got us excited for a Nigerian potluck next time 🇳🇬 What about you?
