Patience and hard work conquer all🌍. I’m thrilled to share a new achievement in my research journey at Kemijski inštitut - National Institute of Chemistry! Together with Blaž Likozar, we have published a comprehensive review article in the Chemical Engineering Journal (CEJ), titled: "State-of-the-art advancements in the thermocatalytic conversion of CO2 into ethanol and higher alcohols: recent progress in catalyst development and reaction mechanisms." 🔬 This article delves deep into one of the most pressing challenges in sustainable chemistry - efficiently converting CO2 into ethanol and higher alcohols (HA). I am thrilled to share that my first PhD paper has been published in the esteemed Chemical Engineering Journal (CEJ) (IF: 13.3)! You can access it here: https://lnkd.in/e65xd_SR In this work, we thoroughly investigated the kinetics of (bio)butanol conversion to (bio)propane over Pt/Al₂O₃ catalyst. With many hopes, I wish for this work to contribute meaningfully to the future of Bio-LPG research and its real-world applications. I am deeply grateful to my supervisors—Dr. Jude Onwudili, Professor Patricia Thornley, and Dr. Keith Simons—for their invaluable support and guidance throughout this journey. Their mentorship has been instrumental in achieving this milestone, and I look forward to many more accomplishments in the future.

🚨 New Publication Alert! 🚨 🚀 I'm thrilled to share that my very first paper, "Efficient multi-objective Bayesian optimization of gas–liquid photochemical reactions using an automated flow platform", has been published in Chemical Engineering Journal (CEJ)! In this study, we developed a modular, automated flow platform capable of performing gas-liquid photochemical reactions, enhanced with a Bayesian optimization algorithm. This system effectively optimized yield and productivity for an aerobic oxidation. Testing across various substrates revealed its potential for reaction optimization and process intensification, making this platform a valuable tool for advancing photochemical processes. Some highlights: 🔹 Multi-objective Bayesian optimization of a photocatalytic gas–liquid oxidation. 🔹 Automated flow platform for precise control of continuous variables. 🔹 Algorithm enables 14-fold increase in productivity for the oxidation of tetralin. 🔹 Identified conditions for model substrate applied to a scope of 9 examples. 📑 Paper: https://lnkd.in/epPKZMGc Many thanks to my co-authors Koen Kuijpers, Jan Dijkmans, Matthieu Dorbec, Kevin Van Geem and Christian Stevens for the contributions and guidance. I always enjoy using molecular simulations to explore various phenomena. In our recent article online in the Chemical Engineering Journal (CEJ), I am pleased that we employed molecular simulations (osmotic ensemble) to validate the results of our experimental study on CO₂ solubility in hexadecane. Moreover, we emphasized the importance of considering the swelling effect on solubility in molecular simulations in greater detail. I'm excited to share that I've recently completed my sixth manuscript review tasks for the Chemical Engineering Journal (CEJ) (Impact Factor: 13.3)! 📚✍️ Contributing to such a distinguished journal has been an incredibly fulfilling experience, allowing me to engage deeply with innovative research in environmental engineering. Each review has pushed me to think critically and expanded my perspective on the latest advancements in our field. Many thanks to the editorial team for this opportunity. Waste #valorisation is critical to creating a #circulareconomy. Fly ash #waste, produced from coal-fired power plants, is rich in Earth-abundant #metals that can be exploited as #catalysts to drive #chemical reactions. Using coal fly ash from a lignite-fired power station in #Australia, our collaborators Sasha Yang and Lian Zhang at Monash University developed a high-entropy oxide catalyst to rapidly convert acetic acid in #pyrolysis #biooils into ketone molecules suitable for upgrading to #sustainable #diesel or #jetfuel. Powerful X-ray and in-situ infrared #spectroscopies identified octahedral Fe(II) as the catalytically active sites, and bidentate acetate as the key reactive intermediate to the ketone product.
