Today in the spotlight: The development of Pameijer’s new residential location. In Ommoord, Rotterdam, G.A.F. is designing a new home for Pameijer, providing housing for 24 residents with (mild) intellectual disabilities. The complex consists of three small-scale buildings surrounding a green courtyard, offering private studio apartments and shared facilities. We did it! Woonzorgcentrum Zierik7 has won the European Healthcare Design Champions Award for Health and wellbeing! Yesterday, Femke Feenstra was in London to present the project. Today, I am presenting Woonzorgcentrum Zierik7 as one of the 18 nominated projects at the European Healthcare Design Champions Awards! This event marks the 10th anniversary of the congress. Met trots maken we bekend dat pim ijsendoorn sinds januari 2025 Algemeen directeur is bij Gortemaker Algra Feenstra architects.  Pim is in 2023 bij ons team gekomen en heeft veel ervaring opgedaan in eerdere functies zoals head of office, design director, senior associate en projectmanager bij architectenbureaus in Nederland, Denemarken, het Verenigd Koninkrijk en Vietnam. Gedurende zijn carrière heeft hij uitgebreide ervaring opgedaan met grote en complexe architectuurprojecten in uiteenlopende typologieën, evenals de werking en bedrijfsvoering van een architectenbureau. Pim heeft een diepgaande en brede kennis en begrip van de branche ontwikkeld en is vastbesloten om ons bureau naar een hoger niveau te tillen. De benoeming van pim ijsendoorn als Algemeen directeur is onderdeel van de uitbreiding van de directie, waarbij ellen gedopt is toegetreden als nieuwe Architect | Directeur. We are excited to announce that pim ijsendoorn has been appointed Managing Director of Gortemaker Algra Feenstra Architects, effective January 2025. Pim joined our team in 2023, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his previous roles as head of office, design director, senior associate, and project manager at architectural firms in the Netherlands, Denmark, the UK, and Vietnam.  Throughout his career he gained extensive experience in large and complex architectural projects across a wide range of typologies as well as the ins and outs of how to operate an architectural firm. Pim developed a deep and wide knowledge and understanding of the industry and is eager to elevate our studio to the next level. The appointment of pim ijsendoorn as Managing Director is part of the expansion of our management team, which includes the appointment of ellen gedopt as Architect | Director. 𝗔𝗭 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘂𝘅: 𝗘𝗲𝗻 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘂𝘄𝗱𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗳𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘃𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝘇𝗼𝗿𝗴   Afgelopen week opende AZ Glorieux in Ronse de deuren van hun vernieuwde spoedafdeling. Deze moderne herinrichting tilt de zorgervaring van patiënten naar een hoger niveau en verhoogt de efficiëntie binnen het ziekenhuis.   De nieuwe afdeling combineert functionaliteit met comfort. Uitnodigende wachtzalen, waaronder een kindvriendelijke ruimte met interactieve elementen – en innovaties zoals een centrale balie, biedt de afdeling een toegankelijke en veilige omgeving. Het ontwerp straalt vertrouwen uit en versterkt zowel het comfort van patiënten als de werkomgeving voor medewerkers.   Deze vernieuwing vormt een eerste stap binnen een groter masterplan dat gericht is op de verdere modernisering en verbetering van AZ Glorieux.   In samenwerking met Archipelago, Tractebel, Sweco en Pauwels   --   𝗔𝗭 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘂𝘅: 𝗔 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲   Last week, AZ Glorieux in Ronse proudly opened the doors to its newly renovated emergency department. This modern redesign aims to elevate the patient experience while improving operational efficiency throughout the hospital.   The new department blends functionality with comfort. With inviting waiting areas, including a child-friendly space with interactive features, and innovations such as a centralized reception desk, the department provides an accessible and safe environment.
