Last Call! You can still sign-up for this event on and about Open Science trainings and practices in collaboration with Netherlands Research Integrity Network (NRIN). Monday, 13th January from 9:30 to 15:30 at VU Amsterdam We hope to meet many of you there!
Capacity Building for Open Science - join us for a one day event at VU Amsterdam. We teamed up with Netherlands Research Integrity Network (NRIN) for a day on and about open science trainings and practices: In the morning, we welcome Marie Alavi and Julia Claire Prieß-Buchheit from University Kiel for a workshop on minimum standards for open science trainings. The workshop is followed up by a presentation by Tim Errington from the Center for Open Science on how culture change is central to adopt, scale and sustain open science practices*. In the afternoon, we welcome PhD students for a workshop on preregistration. Monday, 13 January 25, 9:30 to 15:30 hrs at VU Amsterdam Full program and registration here: https://buff.ly/3ZGYruE *Full abstract: Research can be improved to increase efficiency in the accumulation of knowledge. This requires changes to the present culture, and a number of open science practices, such as preregistration, open data and making preprints, have been proposed to help enable this change. Requiring change though is not sufficient. A strategy to enable change is required, both to start the adoption of practices and to scale and sustain those practices. This talk will present examples of implementing culture change through focused strategies and through a more decentralized approach.
