During Keynote Session 1: 'Investing in impact – what can renewable energy markets achieve?' Adam, and the panel of industry experts, will make the case for investing in impact, not only for renewables but also for people and the planet. This session will provide an overview of how renewable energy markets and energy attribute certificates have long proven their ability to track the ownership of energy attributes robustly and reliably from producer to consumer. It will highlight how energy attribute certificates enable consumers to choose the type of energy they prefer to purchase and give renewable generators supplementary income. This is your opportunity to help shape the GO market and ensure it meets consumer and market needs. 🗓 Survey deadline: 28 February (COB) 🔗 See the comment section for the survey link RECS encourages our members to highlight Full Consumption Disclosure (FCD) in the open comment section as a key step toward a more transparent and consumer-empowered energy market. 📣 The 3rd workshop on the Union Database organised by the Prime Movers Group on Guarantees of Origin took place yesterday. The workshop was divided into five panels, dealing with several topics related to the Union Database: 🟢 UDB timeline and exchange on the experience so far 🔵 Focus on traceability: Repercussion of the Delegated Act extending the scope of the UDB to raw materials 🟢 Revision on Implementing Act 2022/996: What new challenges ahead? 🔵 Cross-border trading of subsidised biomethane: Challenges ahead? 🟢 Certified vs non-certified traders Eurogas Senior Policy Advisor Svetlana Bochkova took part, moderating the panel on cross-border trading of subsidised #biomethane. 🎤 Galin Gentchev of DG ENER presented the European Commission’s position on the topics discussed, and engaged with the audience. The room was clearly interested in the topics at hand and in learning how to navigate the implementation of the UDB. 🔎 Although some details still need to be clarified, the workshop represented an opportunity for those working in the sector to share and discuss the way forward, so that 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝘄-𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝘂𝗲𝗹𝘀 can achieve their potential to decarbonise Europe's energy sector.
