UEBT was glad to contribute last week in Bangkok with IFEAT and other partners the #essentialoils and #aroma sectors to promote #ethicalsourcing with respect for #people and #biodiversity in origins.
We were privileged to host a special panel discussion on the critical role of sustainability in our industry – Alain Frix hosted an incredibly diverse range of experts in Catherine Rémy, Cordula Mock-Knoblauch, Thomas ANDRO Christian Van Osselaer, Rik Kutsch Lojenga, Martina Bianchini, Filip Lissicharov, Tim S Valentiner and Elisa Aragon for this insightful session. The panellists explored the need for a holistic approach encompassing social, environmental, and economic factors. They emphasised the importance of industry-wide collaboration and transparent communication to drive meaningful change. One key message was that sustainability extends beyond environmental concerns. The panel discussed the significance of social equity and economic viability in achieving long-term impact. They highlighted the importance of providing work opportunities in rural areas and the devastating impact of war on local communities. They explored the power of climate footprint data in informing strategic business decisions. The bottom line... we all need to work together to build a more sustainable future. The F&F industry is doing it now, but we mustn't be complacent – we have to keep sustainability embedded in the core of our business practices and throughout our complex global supply chains.
