Show Me The Money, Soft Money 2024 was a great success! 💸 Startups, grant managers and grant writers came together to discuss finances 1-on-1 during the speed dating sessions. 31 startups made their way to BioPartner 3 to meet with the 14 experts and discuss the different types of grant and loan opportunities for their startup. A big thanks to all the grant managers and grant writers that attended this addition and shared their knowledge with startups. Since January 2024, PLNT Leiden is working in collaboration with several Leiden programs to develop innovative education focused on Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Life Sciences (LSH). This is the 'Kansen voor West' project. This project focuses on: 🔎 analyzing and improving existing education 🔎 developing new educational modules 🔎 and involving companies in the educational process The ultimate goal of this project is to develop and offer educational modules on innovation, entrepreneurship and working in the LSH sector for all relevant courses at Universiteit Leiden, Hogeschool Leiden and Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC). Now for the update! The analyses of the entrepreneurial-education field in Leiden is finished. We have gained insight into funding and understanding of wished and experiences of the various LSH programmes. An innovation and entrepreneurship education menu was drawn up, on which the overview of the supply of education programmes. We've also started pilot program 'Ready to Start program', together with UtrechtInc. The online program, meant for PhD-candidates and up, is an online ideation program to show academics the possibilities in entrepreneurship during and after their current career. Congratulations to Secuped together with Leiden University Medical Center for being awarded a 442K grant from Health~Holland! With this grant the startup will help develop a home-monitoring solution to prevent diabetic foot ulcers. Secuped and LUMC will work together by joining their medical technology and clinical expertise to create a device that can detect early signs of ulcer formation. Want to read more about this grant?
